Greta
Earlier I asked if anyone liked Gretchen, and to my suprise not many people liked it. Anyways, someone suggested Greta as an alternative. I must admit it's beginning to grow on me. So wdyt, do you like Greta? Is it too dated? and What are some good mn's for Greta? Thanks!

I actually like Gretchen (I think I missed replying to your other post), but I prefer and love Greta. I have a 'thing' in general for feminine names that have 2 syllables and end in -a but aren't overused. Like Isla. ;)

I love Greta. I'd be more likely to use it as a nickname for Margareta (a family name). I don't think it's too dated.

Greta Eloise
Greta Frances

Greta Katharine
Greta Rosalind

Thumbs up!I love the name. It's in my top 5 girls names. It is elegant and timeless without being frilly and overused. I far prefer it to Gretchen which sounds like a sneeze to me.

I like Greta, but I think it's too nicknamey to be by itself. I like it as a nn for Gretchen or Margaret. It surprises me too that not many people liked Gretchen. I think it's a nice name, and I don't think it's too dated.
