Renee
f
Absolutely love it for a middle name, and I am definitely using it; it's the one name that's non-negotiable.
Ariana
f
After some thought, I decided I liked the one N best.
Katherine
f
Classic. I do prefer the K, but Catherine is also very nice.
Alannah
f
Conflicted over spellings...I tend to lean towards this one.
Dáirine
f
couldn't use it - I just really like it
Ann
f
Definitely prefer the shorter version. My paternal grandmother is Anna, although I don't have to honor her so I can get away with Ann and Hannah.
Christabel
f
Does anyone actually use it, or do we all just think it's pretty and dream of using it?
Morgan
1
f
Feels more like a girls' name.
Flora
f
Flora is another one of those names that, like Dinah, I see as very delicate.
Annabel
f
I definitely prefer this spelling. To me, it's old-fashioned but there's enough here for modern name-lovers to be interested in.
Alena
1
f
I do prefer this spelling to Alina.
Crystal
f
I don't know why this name gets such a bad rap - I've known some Crystals that were good people.
Veronica
f
I don't like Ronnie or Nikki, her nickname would have to come from her personality. It's not likely I'd use this one in the near future.
Violet
f
I go back and forth on this one. It's getting more popular, but not too fast, and it's a better flower name than the old standby, Rose.
Kaitlyn
f
I have a thing for K's lately - this is one of my favorite variants.
Adele
f
I keep hearing this, and it's a lot better than most "-elle" names...but the 2nd half emphasis makes me think of it as a middle name. Also, the singer; too many people either love or hate her.
Cassandra
f
I know it ought to be spelled with a K according to some people, but I just can't get past that. I like Cassie, although I knew a Casey that was really Cassandra (and a Kasey).
Isabel
f
I like Isobel better than this, but it's not bad.
Simone
1
f
I like Simon, so I thought I'd give Simone a chance.
Maia
1
f
I like this spelling better for some reason.
Isobel
f
I like this spelling, and you don't see it often enough IMO.
Róisín
f
I love it, but the poor kid would get called Raisin her whole life.
Lily
f
I only like a few flower names. I like how short this one is, but with Harry Potter dominating the world, it's on the back burner.
Cassidy
f
I only sort of like it for a girl. I think I prefer Cassandra.
Madeline
f
I prefer this spelling, although I liked it more a few years ago than I do now.
Marie
f
I really prefer it as a middle name.
Alice
f
I still like it despite recent uses and the Wonderland connection - maybe a 40% chance of using it
Selene
f
I thought that I liked this spelling, but...
Noelle
f
I wouldn't use this or Natalie for a December baby, it's too cliche. One of the few -elle names I can stand.
Katya
f
I'd only use it on it's own, because Ekaterina is a mouthful.
Brianna
f
I'm not sure why but this is one of the few times that I prefer the double N spelling...
Rachel
f
I've always liked this name, and I've known several Rachels. I do not like the extra A variant.
Claire
f
It doesn't seem complete to me without the I, and would be too much like the word "clear" otherwise.
Jade
f
It's good for a middle name, against something really long.
Angelia
f
It's just pretty, without going on too long.
Lynn
f
It's my middle name. I had no idea it was so unpopular recently.
Gretchen
f
It's not really my favorite, but it has its own charm.
Oriana
f
it's pretty...
Astrid
f
Just started liking it recently.
Daria
f
La-la-LA-la la...la-la-LA-la-la...Lucky for me, I like that cartoon.
Ellen
1
f
My beloved Nana's name.
Dinah
f
My very first best friend was named Dinah. It's a very dainty name to me, though.
Melanie
f
Now that the Spice Girls are a distant memory, I'd be more likely to use this name. Much more reasonable than my GP Melody.
Mara
2
f
Okay, so I only picked this version because I didn't like the "bitter" meaning. In a sea of Sara/Tara/Kara/Cara and others, Mara is a nice change.
Emma
f
One of the few times that I keep popularity in mind - I'll stay out of the top 5 for girls most of the time.
Megan
f
One of the names I've consistently liked through the years. I prefer this spelling; adding the H looks clunky to me.
Sophie
f
Prefer this to Sophia, although I know people would assume it was just a nickname for Sophia.
Heather
f
Previously, this was my #1 name.
Aislinn
f
Pronunciation would get slaughtered here, but I like this spelling better than Ashling
Bridget
f
Sadly, the only remotely Irish name that wouldn't be mangled in the US. One of my longtime faves.
Hannah
f
This is THE name, the one I really want to use, popularity be damned, and it KILLS me that there's a horrible character with this name, but I'm not changing my mind.
Michaela
f
This is the only spelling that I'd accept, although Micaela works, too. I can't stand this epidemic of weird bastardizations! They don't even RESEMBLE Michael anymore!
Caitlín
f
Too Caitlyn-y for the US?
Mariana
f
too much?
Lindy
f
Well, I don't like Belinda...I sort of like Melinda...probably just a nickname.
Natalie
f
Wouldn't use Nat as a nickname, but Natalie has about a 70% chance of being used.
