[Opinions] Kelly for a boy
I only like Kelly for a boy, but everyone I've mentioned it to considers it a girl's name. WDYT of it for a boy? Any MN suggestions?--

Yes!I love this name on a boy! I don't know why, but I wouldn't use it for a girl. For the middle name though, I would use something masculine.

I consider it a girl's name, but in the 70s/early 80s there was a young male character named Kelly on my mother's soap opera (I think it was Guiding Light). And wasn't there a character named Kelly in the original "Bad News Bears"? He was the older one, the good pitcher, I think.

It's on my boys list, I love it on boys. I also like Courtney and Ariel for boys!"And I believe, that angels breathe, and hat love will live on and never leave" -Josh Groban

Meh ... does nothing for me. I suppose it's better on a boy than on a girl; it's overused on girls. But the name in general has no charm in my opinion. It sounds like "skelly", "belly", "smelly" and a dozen other not-so-lovely words. It's also rather 80s. I'd rather see Ashley on a boy, which is very dashing._____________________________________________________________________Elinor

I have always HATED "girls names" on boys even if they're technically unisex. Kelly and Lauren are two examples. But I have always LOVED "boys names" on girls. Like Dylan

I've know several male Kellys. It doesn't seem uncommon as a male name.I think it's fine for either gender, personally.

I adore Kelly on a boy. I would prefer to see it on a boy than on a girl, these days. I'm no help as far as middle names though. :)

What's up with people wanting to make Kelly a boy's name. Kelly is more of a girl's name, so I say no way! He would be laughed at in school.

I would prefer Kellen or Keller nn Kelly. Some men can pull off a unisex names and others can't. And now a days, people will assume Kelly is a girl, so a man with a feminine name is going to have to deal with some jokes and mail addressed to Miss rather than Mr.
Some guys are fine with that, others aren't.

As far as I'm concerned? Kelly = boy. Kellie = Girl. It's one of those names that I consider unisex. :) And it's very cool on a boy (and just really 80s on a girl), so I say yes.Array (no combos yet for you)

Sorry but I dislike Adrian for a boys name too. I think Kelly Adrian would sound VERY girly... not that it should necessarily but I think that's how people would take it

I like it better for a boy, too. IMO, it sounds oudated and oo 80's for a girl, but cool and unusual for a boy. How about these for combos?

Absolutely!I really can't stand Kelly on a girl. Kelly is entirely a boy's name where I'm concerned, though I know practically everyone else disagrees. I am biased, though, because I've personally known a couple of very sexy guys named Kelly, and never liked any of the girls named Kelly/ey I've met.Although I really like it, as I say, I've never given much thought to a combination. Let's see... (my faves with *)Kelly Mack*

I wouldn't recommend using Kelly for a boy. It was too overused as a girls' name in the past. I would use Kellen instead. I like Kelly James as a combo.
