Re: opinions on these girls names long list plz answer
Adrian(n)a- It's okay. I wouldn't use it myself, but I don't mind seeing it.
Alexa- I'm not a fan of any Alex- names for girls.
Alexandra- See above, but this is at least the classic, so it wins out of the bunch.
Alexia- Same as Alexa.
Angelina- I'm not a fan of any Angel- names either, except Angeline. Funny the difference that A at the end makes.
Angelica- This one is worse than Angelina, because it makes me think of the Rugrats character and doesn't sound as clean to me.
Anika- It doesn't appeal to me. I'd probably spell it Annika, but even then it's not my cup of tea.
Arian(n)a- Very similar to Adrianna for me. I prefer Adrianna, however.
Ariane- And this one sounds incomplete, so I just can't win here.
Ariel(le)- It's not bad, though the Little Mermaid association is still strong.
Aurora- I've never liked it because I find it awkward to say.
Beatrice- Very cute, very buttoned-up, very sweet. I like it.
Bianca- It used to make me think of a spoiled, stuck-up girl, but it's grown on me.
Bryony- I prefer the spelling Briony, and it's alright. It reminds me a little too much of Brian for me to put it on my list.
Camilla- Pretty, underused floral. Maybe a tad forgettable though.
Camille- I don't like it, it sounds slimy to me.
Caroline- I like it. It's very sweet and friendly. I also find that even though it's a classic name, it's underused, at least in my area.
Charlotte- It's alright. I personally wouldn't use it, but I'd like to meet one.
Cordelia- I like Cordelia. It sounds Victorian, full, proper.
Cressida- I'm not sure about it. On one hand it sounds so stuffy, but on the other hand that's kind of the appeal of it.
Danielle- This is my own name. I've never much cared for it. It was too popular for my age group and I don't like the Dan part.
Delphine- It just reminds me of dolphins.
Diana- Gorgeous.
Dominique- Eh, it's okay.
Elena- I used to like this a lot, but it's fallen to the wayside in favor of better names. I still like it, just not as much as I used to.
Elizabeth- It bores me.
Emily- I think it's very pretty and has an appealing sound, but it needs a long rest.
Emilia- I prefer Amelia.
Emma- I like Emma, but it's everywhere right now.
Eugenie- I like this if pronounced the French way. The English way just butchers it.
Gemma- I kind of like it. I think she'd be confused as an Emma or a Jenna a lot, though.
Genevieve- Very pretty with lots of nickname options.
Georgia- This has really grown on me. It's very sunny and summery.
Grace- I like it as a first name and think it's still a little unexpected there. As a middle name, it's tired.
Hazel- I like Hazel. I like the nature connection and that it's not typical sounding.
Isabel(le)- I only like it spelled Isabel, but even then I'd set it aside for now. It's all over the place.
Isabella- This is even worse, in terms of popularity. I prefer Isabel anyway. It's more streamlined and less frilly.
Jacqueline- I find it a little dated, but then you never really see this name, so it could work.
Jade- I kind of like it. I know that in some circles it has a downmarket vibe, but I like the nature connection and how simple it is.
Jasmine- I like it, but it's still so associated with the Disney princess.
Jemma- I really prefer the Gemma spelling. Jemma doesn't look as "right" to me.
Jennifer- Belongs in the 70s, doesn't need a comeback.
Joanna- It's pretty and still maintains a dignity. I prefer Johanna, however.
Josephine- I like it. It's almost got a quaint feeling to it, and you don't often come across it.
Julia- Gorgeous and classic.
Julian(n)a- I find it unnecessarily frilly.
Juliet(te)- I'd spell it Juliet as I find the Juliette spelling to be too frilled up. But Juliet is really gorgeous. I personally don't mind the Romeo and Juliet association.
Justine- Not my style. Sounds like an 80s tomboy.
Kate- Simple, beautiful, classic.
Lara- I dislike this spelling/pronunciation. Laura is so much nicer. Or even Lauren.
Larissa- Dislike a lot. It sounds so hissy and prissy. That "iss" sound is really unappealing to me.
Leah- It's alright. Classic, but not the most interesting or pretty name. I somewhat prefer the Lea spelling.
Lily- It's okay, I'm just bored with it.
Lucinda- I think this has a nice fairytale quality to it. I'm not sure if I'd use it, though.
Maya- Eh, it's alright. I see it quite a lot (I work with kids.)
Mil(l)a- I don't think I've seen this used as a name before. It sounds sort of incomplete. Mila makes sense to me as a feminine version of Milo, but Milla in particular seems odd to me.
Miranda- It's grown on me over the years. I'd like to see it on someone else's kid.
Nadia- Though it sounds pretty, it reminds me of "nada," Spanish for "nothing."
Naomi- It sounds mysterious to me, which is a good thing. It also has the advantage of being relatively familiar to everyone but still being a more unusual name. I like it.
Natalie- I really like Natalie as well. It has a very girl-next-door feeling to me. Very bright and friendly.
Natalia- This is the more lush, overtly feminine version. Both are quite nice but have very different feelings to me.
Nicola- I'm not a Nicole fan, or variants.
Ophelia- It has potential but I can't get past "I'll feel ya."
Rachel- I like Rachel. It might be a little dated, but it's classic and feminine without being too much.
Rebecca- Same here.
Rosalind- Very pretty. It reminds me of a dusty rose color. I like most Rose names, and this is no exception.
Samara- Not my style. Just doesn't do anything for me.
Sara(h)- Yawn.
Sophia- I don't care how popular Sophia is, I'll always think it's gorgeous.
Talia- Eh, it's okay. Nothing special.
Tess- I like Tess. It sounds kind of retro, which is very appealing for me.
Tessa- I like this as well, but prefer Tess, just because Tessa sounds more wishy-washy.
Veronica- I've never liked it. It gives me the image of a popular, very mean girl. I think it's because it has so many sharp sounds.
