Oliver, August and Noel
What do you think of Oliver, August and Noel (NO-əl ) individually?
I have pretty much decided on a name, but Oliver is one of the finalist I'm taking with my to the hospital until making the final decision. August is a name that I took off my list quite a while ago, but I keep coming back to it. And Noel is one of the new names I'm thinking about. I wouldn't use a nickname for any of them. And if you had to come up with a combo for each with two middle names, what would it be? More than one combo per name is welcome of course.
Let us step into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure. PNL: http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/45898

Noel is a very Christmassy name to me, which is fitting for a december baby, so it's just an observation. It's not one of my favs. I'm not keen on the sound. NO-EL sounds better to me than NO-əl does (which is already better than NOL). Oliver is a decent name with a good sound. It's been growing on me; I used to dislike it, but not anymore :) I don't like that I've heard it used so often, but I know popularity doesn't really bother you, so that's not an issue. This is my fav out of these three.August is a name I like mostly on paper. I like the look of it, but not the sound. the -gust part reminds me of 'disgust'. I'm not really sure how I feel about a december baby being named August. It doesn't really matter much I guess... I think this is a very good MN, but I'm not overly enthusiastic about August as a FN.

Maximus Constantine are two badass names, especially when paired together.I especially like:
Noel Sebastian Alexander
Noel Felix Theodor
Noel Maximilian Felix
Oliver Sixten Felix
Oliver Zacharias Arthur
August William Nilas
August Vilhelm Nicolas - but wouldn't use Nicolas. Feels a bit cheesy when my own name is Nicole, and my brother is Nicklas..
August Caspian Julius

I thought I could get away with sneaking Nicolas there in the second MN spot :P I actually like it as a 2nd MN because of the reasons you will NOT use it.

August is such a popular (and classic) name here so there wouldn't be any problems at all with him being born in December. I go back and forth on August though, like you I prefer the look of it but I'm not completely in love with how it sounds. It keep popping up in my head whenever I think of other names possibilities for 'Eggbert' though.

August Isaac Sebastian
August Peregrine Henry
August Arthur Blake

August Elijah Sebastian

I used to dislike Noel too. I just wasn't able to see the appeal of it, but then I started thinking of it as an alternative to Noah which I used to love, but realized that it sounds weird with my surname whcih also starts with No-. For some reason I think Noel works better, and that started our love affair haha!I like all of the names you mentioned, but wouldn't use Blake or Elijah where I'm living.

August is the best by far.I love Oliver but I know a ridiculous amount of Oliver's. Noel is a pretty 'rough' name here, so not a fan.August Frederick Theodore
August Maxwell James
August Vincent Louis
August Barnaby Claude
August Julian Gray
August Finnian Arthur
August Willem Jude

Oliver is #5 here and I think that's pretty much the only reason why it's not my top choice. I've loved it for like ten years. One person I know has a son named Oliver, and a family friend has a grandson named Oliver, but other than that I don't personally know any. It's popularity puts me off a bit though...I like August Vincent Louis and August Finnian Arthur. Wouldn't use Louis or Finnian though

I like all of them, in this order (with comments):1. August - It's not too common, but not weird, and has some spunk. I'd pair it with something more traditional to balance it, like August William / August Michael / August Benjamin2. Oliver - Cute, but becoming so popular. I'd pair it with a short and sweet mn: Oliver James / Oliver Scott / Oliver Beau3. Noel - I like it pronounced your way, like the word... but despise the "NOLE" pronunciation. Not sure how often people would have to be corrected (or, to be honest, if that really matters!). I'd pair it with a more masculine name: Noel Thomas / Noel Jonathan / Noel Gavin

Noel is only pronounced one way where I live, so it wouldn't be a problem. I like August William, August Benjamin, Oliver James and Noel Thomas.

I like Noel best. It's friendly, but distinctive and memorable; and it's short, which would be good with a long surname (if you're still going with two surnames). I like Oliver too, especially without an nn, but it's so common where I live that it doesn't have the charm of Noel. August is okay, but there's something a little fusty about it to me.Noel Victor Harald
Noel Vincent Elis
Noel Arthur Dominic
Noel Peregrine Hugo
Noel Sebastian MioOliver Hugo Francis
Oliver August Noel
Oliver Maximilian Rufus
Oliver Jude Sixten
Oliver Albin DrakeAugust Elian Gabriel
August Matthias Jude
August Isidor Edward
August Gideon James
August Leopold Noel

Looks like you remember any and all names I mention here, haha!I like quite a few of the combos. I especially like the sound and flow of Noel Vincent Elis, but I can't help but thinking that Arthur swoon-worthy.

I like some of the names in your combos, but not a whole combo. Maybe Noel Felix Maximilian? I quite like that.

I like all of them. Oliver and August are both enormously popular where I live; there must be hundreds of them in my zip code alone. Noel strikes me as a particularly British name, and I think in the U.S. a lot of people would say no-EL rather than NO-el, unfortunately. But if you don't live in the U.S., then it probably won't be a problem. And even if you do, people learn how to say names. Most people, anyway.

They are all quite popular where I live, but especially Oliver. It's a long time favorite though.
I live in Sweden, and Noel is only pronounced one way here so it wouldn't be a problem.

I would definitely go with Noel, especially if you live in Sweden. I do too, and my brother is named Noel, and as you say, pronunciation is not a problem at all. I also like it because it's rarer than the other two, I feel like everyone is named Oliver or August these days.
