Lilac Sophia / Sofia
Lilac Ramona
Lilac Diana

Lilac Susannah
Lilac Araminta

Your grandmother's names are positively lovely. :) I'm thrilled to hear she went by Lilac, though. It's as if that sort of gives creedence to the fact that Lilac can age well and not be stuck as an infantile/juvenile name.I adore Lilach, too. Two of my favourite combos are Anina Lilach and Aviva Lilach, but I always worried that the glutteral sound at the end might detract slightly from the prettiness of the name. Thanks for all the suggestions!I like:Lilac Miranda
Lilac Sofia (one of my other favourite combos is Sofia Lilac)
Lilac Ramona (Ooo! New fave alert!)
Lilac Ophelia
Lilac Frances
Lilac Philippa
Lilac Susannah
Lilac Vivienne
Lilac MargaretI have a lot of potential McCombos to sort through!Mashka

Lilac is a bit of a GP name for me as I love flower names but probably wouldn't use it as it's one of the more 'unique' ones. :b
I also tend to group it in with other similar sounding names and compare--I love Lila and Leila (LAY-lah), which it reminds me of, and it reminds me of Lyric as well, which I don't like as much. With Lilac, I wouldn't pair it with a word name at all because it mind end up sounding like a feminine deodorant product. :-/ The only MN options that come to mind are Lilac Aurelia, Lilac Ophelia (over the top maybe? lol), and Lilac Estella.

I like Lila a lot, too. With Lilac, I wouldn't pair it with a word name at all because it mind end up sounding like a feminine deodorant product.ROTF! I hadn't thought of that, but you're absolutely right! No Lilac Doves or Lilac Summers. *giggles*I really like the dramatic-sounding Lilac Ophelia. Actually, I like all three of your suggestions. Thanks!Mashka

It's so strange because I was just thinking minutes ago how I love the name Polly (and Dolly). :) Lilac Polly doesn't sound too bad!Lilac Abigail is lovely. The down-to-earth Abigail grounds the flighty Lilac. :)

Lilac Mireille? Thanks everyone for responding! I tend to think that Lilac demands so much attention that the middle name needs to be kept simple and short, thereby agreeing with all your responses. :)Sabrina, I love the suggestion of Lilac Morning. And though I've never been a fan of such names, constantly perusing Array's list has opened the way for several of those names to grow on me, including Morning and Evening. :) I like Lilac Joy, too. One last question: even though we're all in agreement that the middle name needs to be one that's relatively short, classic and simple, what do you think of Lilac Mireille? Thanks so much!Mashka

Thank you! :)When I first saw the name, I was like, 'How in the heck do you pronounce this?? Mir-elle, mir-eye-ll...?'Once I found out the correct pronunciation, I fell in love with it and I can't stop saying it, LOL. Pronunciation is something I'd potentially have to address if I ever use it because I doubt that anyone in my locale will pronounce it correctly (unless they're French or have a French background).

Out of curiosity, what is the correct pronunciation? They way I'm saying it is Lilac Mir-ee-elle, and it sounds lovely to me!

I usually don't like names that contain the 'lie' sound but I do like the quirkiness of Lilac. I'd keep the mn classic and straightforward.

I love the flower; it's my favorite, but I have a hard time liking the sound.

I was just thinking about this name last night. I think it's lovely, a beautiful alternative to the more common flower names such as Lily or Violet.

Do you believe?

It's nice in theory, but I don't think it's something I'd use. I prefer Lily or Lila.

I love the name. It's very, refreshing. It's simple, but very sweet.I agree, a shortER, sweet middle name like Marie would sound good.

I think it's beautiful, and would probably do best with another simple, sweet mn such as Marie.
