Joan in the middle
Can you come up with combos with Joan as the middle name that don't make Joan look like an ugly obligatory presence? It's a family name and I do really like it, but everything makes it look so awful. I did come up with Ava Marie Joan and Eva Marie Joan which I do like quite a bit (they look retro-fresh) but both Ava and Eva don't hold my attention for long. Other ideas?

Eloise Joan is beauteous, adore that one. Also Lucy Joan, I like the youthfulness of Lucy next to Joan's solemnity. You think Heloise Joan is too much? I do love Heloise...

Joan is lovely. Don't let it bring you down! :)Eva Marie Joan is very cool.Have you considered something else with a strong J-sounding presence to jazz it up?
Like:
Julia Joan
Virginia Joan
Eugenia JoanEither way, I feel inclined to offer longer, more dramatic European names with Joan. It deserves retro movie star quality.Cecelia Joan
Serafina Joan
Katarina / Catarina Joan
Eulalia Joan
Penelope Joan !!! This might be my favorite.
Isadora Joan
Francesca Joan
Christiana Joan

Ooh, Eugenia Joan is large and in CHARGE.Christiana Joan!!! oh also Christabel Joan, does that work you think? I love those fancy Chis- names, they are such a GP of mine.Seraphine is a family name, so Seraphina Joan could work! Seraphine Joan doesn't flow very well I guess. Sad!

Christabel Joan is great! A good friend of mine is Christine Joanne (Jo-ANNE), and while I've always liked it in theory, I never thought it flowed that well. Christabel Joan is a great alternative. :)

I think anything frilly will bring out the flair in Joan, which is such a strong feminine name anyway. Something like these would work, imo:
Priscilla Joan
Anneliese Joan
Veronica Joan
Aurora Joan
Amelia Joan
Genevieve Joan
Odessa Joan
Hannelore Joan
If you want the name to be more spunky, go with something unexpected like:
Bianca Joan
Ember Joan
Viola Joan
Thisbe Joan
Piper Joan
Briar Joan
Though, I do like your double middle idea:
Emily Joan Gail
Myra Cecile Joan
Roslyn Joan Estelle
Hazel Maris Joan
Laurel Marie Joan
Daphne Joan Iris
Eden Joan Michelle
Sally Joan Opal
Frona Nevena Joan

Thank you Pie! You came up with some really nice ideas. I particularly like:Cecily Joan / Cicely Joan - love these ones. So Medieval cute.
Isabel Joan - I do love Isabel, and this is the nicest spelling, imo. Isobel Joan is kinda nice too, it's got a dark poetry to it.
Myra Joan - I'm mad for My- names recently
Priscilla Joan - I like that -illa Joan part. I'll springboard off this into: Lucilla Joan? Camilla Joan? Drusilla Joan? Ooh.
Ruby Joan - Ruby is always my fave in most combos
Sylvia Joan - Sylvie Joan strikes me as sprightly too. Silvie Joan maybe. Yeah!
Betsy Joan - this is too cute. It's so retro, I love it.
Bryony Joan - Aw, I like the woodsy charm this has
Rowena Joan - more woodsiness!
Greta Joan - very old Hollywood glam, I liiiike.
Loretta Joan - twangy and sassy, and my mom's name is Lori, so it could be sorta honouring, I like that!
Amity Joan - witchily delish
Leda Joan - sultry and subtle

Cassidy Joan is really pretty. Cassidy's always been a guilty pleasure name of mine... I often wish I didn't like it as much as I do. It seems more fun and less formal than Cassandra (which I also love, though).
