[Opinions] Casey
WdYT? Is it better for a boy or a girl? What middle names would you pair with it?

Much prefer it for a girlI realise this name can technicaly be used for both males and females, but to me, it sounds a bit wimpy for a guy. I much prefer it for a girl, actually I really like it for a girl. My DH once mentioned he liked this name for a girl too. I like the following combos:Casey Rebecca
Casey Rachel
Casey Hannah
Casey Lee
Casey Teagan
Casey Maegan
Casey Tabitha
Casey Natasha
Casey Madeleine
Casey Matilda
Casey Lauren
Casey Imogen
Casey Jane
Casey Georgia
Casey Emma

Definetly a girls name. Don't name your boy this. I think this name is cute. Not too immature at all. I also like Lacey. Thanks

Definitely better for a boy, imo. But it sounds a bit immature to me, like it wouldn't age well. :-/

DislikeI really strongly dislike it on boys and girls, but I think the Casey spelling slightly better for boys. I've known both, though. I dislike it for three main reasons:1. It is derived from an obscure Irish surname. I don't know why names like this bug me so much; as far as I can tell, there is no logic behind it. It may not even be a real reason, but I'm finding that it's a common factor in names I strongly dislike.
2. It sounds incredibly nicknamey, but it isn't a nickname.
3. Phonetically, it's very, VERY cutesy. Each syllable is formulaic in forming "cute" names. Casey, Caden, Lacey, Kaylee, Riley, etc. I'm very sick of both "kay" and "-ee." The S is okay, though, I guess.I'm really bad with spontaneous combos, but you have pretty good lists already :) Just thought you might like to hear a more involved opposing viewpoint.

Love Casey! One of my favorite combos is Elijah Casey. But I like it for boys only! It sounds much too masculine on a girl and loses it's appeal.

I do know one boy named Casey. I know alot more girls named Casey. So to me it is more feminine sounding.

I prefer Casey on a boy as the name seems more masculine. I have heard it on both genders, but a different spelling, such as Kaci, Kaysi etc. would be better for a girl.
For middle names, I only can think of my friend's name, Casey Lynn for a girl.

I have a female cousin named Casey and a male friend named Casey so I think it could work for either gender. Cant think of any MNs right at this second, but if I do, I'll come back and edit.
