Re: BTN's Top Names (based on Monthly Top 10s)
Really? Wow that must have been a lot of work, but it's really cool! Thank you :)I used to love Alice but it really bores me at the moment. I guess now I know why :P I never really got the appeal of Iris. Sounds icy and dull to me. I never liked Rose much either.I love Charlie but Charlotte does nothing for me. Penny is cute and I hope Penelope will grow on me but so far I just think it's ok. I like the meaning and sound of Margaret but there's still a negative personal association I need to get out of my head before I could ever really love it. I need to meet and amazing Margaret.Matilda is sweet but I actually thought not many people liked it. Guess I was wrong. Helena is so trendy here (I mean where I live, not on this board) that it annoys me. Cecily is alright, it used to be a fave but its meaning bothers me. Ophelia used to be a fave too but nowadays I only think "I feel ya". Catherine and Elizabeth are decent but don't excite me.Genevieve has grown on me a little but it still sounds too Jennifer to me to be fresh and exciting. Lydia is alright and so is Lucy but they are no favorites. Eve is cute and underused. I never liked Astrid. Ellen is so serious that I have problems seeing it on a girl. I like Hazel and Cordelia. Louisa is common here and I hear it way too much.Jane is still a bit plain to me and I definitely prefer Elizabeth over Elisabeth. I do like Virginia and Willow. Anna bores me to death and I never thought Eloise was pretty at all but I do like Claire, Freya, Ivy, Octavia and Rosemary. I like Delphine, Hermione and Luna and I love Noelle. I wonder whether it is popular because of this and last months lists? Or if people like it all year around. Adelaide doesn't do anything for me. I strongly dislike Imogen, Josephine, Opal, Maeve and Beatrix. They sound ugly to me. Persephone sounds nice but the meaning is horrible.Susannah, Gemma, Eleanor, Emmeline and Phoebe are lovely. The others don't do anything for me except for Winter which I just love. Leah is awful, the meaning and Bible story are horrible.Winter is the only one of my faves that made the list.Theodore, Leo, Luke and Levi are lovely. The only one of my faves to make the boys list is Levi.I guess my taste differs from that of the general message board member :PI would love to see the data! Especially if any names were common in certain months (would like to know whether people prefer Winter and Noelle during this season).
