Tristan
This names has been growing on me lately and I really want to love it but the meaning kind of repels me. Could you suggest any names that you consider similar in style? T.I.A.

Meh, the name is all boy to me but it has that whiney edge (IMHO) that just drives me bonkers.Similar names (that I do like ;D) are:
Ciaran / Kieran
Travis (I'd actually use this one along with Ciaran)
Cameron
Holden
Trevor
Ryan
Logan

Love it! It's a great name and the meaning isn't really that bad to me compared with some other names like Cormac. I think other Authurian names like Gawain, Lancelot, Gareth, Kay and Owain would go really nicely with Tristan but I understand these aren't to everyone's taste so how about other names of Celtic origin like Owen, Dylan, Gavin, Rhys, Dewey, Aidan, Conor, Malcolm, Calum or Duncan? I think any of those would fit well with Tristan.

It's my favorite boys nameI plan on using Tristan Reed for my future DS. I think it has a great feel and masculinity and I also love the legend of Tristan and Isolde. Great name!
