If you had to
We haven't done this in a while...Look at the top 100 and bottom 100 of the most popular names, US, 2011 (in this case 899-1000 (girls) and 898-1000 (boys) as there is no #900):http://www.behindthename.com/top/lists/us/20111) If you had to name a son with a top 100 name, which one and why?
-
2) If you had to name a daughter with a top 100 name, which one and why?
-
3) If you had to name a son with a bottom 100 name, which one and why?
-
4) If you had to name a daughter with a bottom 100 name, which one and why?
-You are allowed to pick any middle name(s) you like (doesn't have to be in the top or bottom 100).You can only choose ONE name per gender and part of the list (top or bottom). If you love two names equally just imagine you had to name a real baby today, so you had to settle on one name somehow.Have fun!

1) David Isaac - This is my second favorite boy combination, I love the name David so much, Isaac isn't 100% set in stone for the middle though.
2) Stella Margaret - This is my first favorite girl combination, I love how it sounds and flows! Though I think Margaret's great as a middle name, I'd like to come up with an even better one.
3) Jonah Henry - This is my third favorite boy combination, I love how it sounds and flows and this is 100% set in stone.
4) Mary Catherine - This is my fourth favorite girl combination, I love how it sounds and flows and this is 100% set in stone.

Top 100: Aaron and Molly because I like them best.
Bottom 100: Reuben and Tess, same reason. Plus, they're spelled correctly. Technically, there are versions of names I like better in the bottom 100, particularly for the boys, but I can't stand their kree8iv spellings. I'm not sure what I'd use for middle names.

For the Top 100, I'll go with what I chose last time: Ian and Jasmine. From the bottom 100, let's go with Hugh and Tess. The only combo I'm sure of is Ian Victor. The rest I'd need some to think about.

1. Jack because it's my favorite boys name. Benjamin is my runner up name though.
2. Mia because I love the simplicity and the way it sounds.
3. Flynn. I like the sound of it and I think it's familiar but not common and over used.
4. Tess. For the same reasons as Flynn

Top 100: Separately, I'd name a boy and a girl Daniel and Anna, but if they were siblings, it would be Benjamin and Anna (because Daniel is a little too close to Anna, especially with the nickname Danny). They're both classic and timeless, and wear well on children and adults. If both names had to come from the top 100, probably Benjamin Luke and Anna Victoria. Otherwise, Benjamin Rhys and Anna Leontine.Bottom 100: Thaddeus and Marianna.

1) Owen Ezra (Owen: #44) - Always loved Owen! Same with Ezra. Strange that Owen is so high on the list, I can't think of any that I know!
2) Lydia Evelyn (Lydia: #96) - Lydia has been a favorite of mine for a long, long time. I don't personally know any Lydia's though, so I was surprised to see it in the top 100. Evelyn as a MN for my grandmother.
3) Thaddeus Morgan (Thaddeus: #909) - Thaddeus is far from one of my favorites, but I like it. I also really like the NN Tad.
4) Lilith Evelyn (Lilith: #920) - I actually love Lilith. It feels more mature than Lily, but still fresh. Still plan on using Evelyn!

1) Charles, because it's my all time favorite boy name. I'm not sure I would use it because it's too common.2) Audrey, a name I love but wouldn't use because of its popularity. I adore Victoria, but I'd only use it as mn.3) Alfred, because it's the only one I like.4) Amalia, my favorite of the list. I also like Dorothy, Regan and Thalia.

1) If you had to name a son with a top 100 name, which one and why?
Noah Kjell Alexander because I've always loved Alexander, and Kjell is honoring my amazing grandfather. Noah is my #1 boys name2) If you had to name a daughter with a top 100 name, which one and why?
Stella Anna Isadora because neither Alice or Nova (these are my favorites right now) are in the top 100, and I really like Stella. Plus, if I had a daughter right NOW I could name her Stella and hopefully stop my cousin and his girlfriend from naming their January baby Ztella. Anna is honoring, and Isadora I just like.3) If you had to name a son with a bottom 100 name, which one and why?
Elian Kjell Alexander - I was going to say Alfred first because it's cute and works great in both English and Swedish, but then I realized that Elian was in there. I've loved it for years, so it was an easy choice. 4) If you had to name a daughter with a bottom 100 name, which one and why?
This is by far the hardest. Leona, Liv, Alianna or Esme ? I guess Alianna and Esme are out because how they sound in Swedish. Leona and Liv both works fine in Swedish. I like that Liv isa old Swedish name but I do have some negative associations with it. And then there's Leona Lewis, but I've always liked Leo- names. I guess I'm going with Leona Anna Isadora

As said above James honours.4) Kimber Lucia - once upon a time Kimberly was my favourite girls name, more recently I have gone off it a little but I do quite like Kimber. I love Lucia, more as a first name, but in this occasion I think it suits the mn spot nicely.

1) If you had to name a son with a top 100 name, which one and why?Max Aaron Jared.I love the meaning, it is not too popular (only at the bottom of the top 100) and not rising quickly. It's short and simple, I love the sound. I would use three middle names as I have three myself and to make the combo more unique. I'd use Aaron as one of his middle names. It's one of my favorites and it goes well with Max. I think the second middle name would be Jared. I've always liked it, but it's a bit dated. I also really like Luke, Eli, Parker, Hunter, James and Aidan (just not the spellings that made the top 100).2) If you had to name a daughter with a top 100 name, which one and why?Autumn Elise Madeline (-linn).It's my favorite season and I love the sound. I would use two middle names as well. Elise is honoring.I also like Emily, Olivia, Ava, Elizabeth, Ella, Lily, Grace, Aubrey, Zoe, Caley (but not the spelling that made the top 100), Savannah, Ashley, Alexa, Bella, Katherine, Caroline, Madeline, Brooke, Melanie and London.3) If you had to name a son with a bottom 100 name, which one and why?

1.) Isaac James: it's been on my list for a while now. Isaac is my SO's favorite name and I've grown to adore it. James is a tradition as a mn in my SO's family, so I'd like to honor that.2.) Eva Jane: I like that name Eva and I always have, but it's not on my list because I love Ivy more, and Ivy and Eva are too close for siblings. Jane is to honor my stepmother3.) Zeke: I have no idea what his middle name would be. This one was super hard because I didn't particularly like any of the boys names that were in the bottom. I picked this one because it has the potential to grow on me, and SO would probably be thrilled.4.) Laurel Jane: This one is on my list now. I love Laurel for all its connotations and meanings and associations. Jane, I mentioned above.
