Vera
What do you think of the name Vera? This site says that it means faith or true. What do you think would be a good mn?

Thanks! Of these, I'm attracted to Vera Evelyn the most. The only thing holding me back is the repeated "v" sounds. "V's" are so strong in my ear that I wonder if two of them is too much. Then again, I love Genevieve, Vivien and Viveca. So, OK, Vera Evelyn it is!

or...Evelyn Patricia called Vera for a nn. Taking the VE from Evelyn and the RA from patricia. Please tell me if it sounds stupid.

Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner.Evelyn Patricia, nn Vera is spectacular. Patricia is such an underrated gem. All three names share a similar WWII feeling for me. I predict this will be the next wave of names to come back into popularity, although we might have to wait ten to twenty years. You would be well ahead of the curve. Nns are exactly the place to let your imagination soar so Vera makes perfect sense to me. Evelyn Patricia, nn Vera is a winner all around. :-D

Aw. Vera was my grandmother's name, so I'm biased. For her, it was short for Veronica. I've always loved Vera. In Russian (and probably other Greco-Slavic languages), it means faith. It is pronounced "vyehr-a" which I always found so beautiful. But the English "veer-a" is nice too. In English, it has a WWII, Rosie the Riveter feeling that I always find appealing.Vera Catherine / Katherine
Vera Margaret
Vera Elizabeth
Vera Frances
Vera Helen / Ellen
Vera Chloe
Vera Sophie (= wise truth / faith)
