Back for help with #3's name
Hello, all! It's been a while! I am due with number 3, and since you all have been amazing in helping choose names for the first two kids, I'm back for help with this one as well. We are really stuck. Some of our current mututal likes are:Girls -
Willow
Lilah
GenevieveBoys -
Ronan
Sebastian
Our main problem is that my husband's name picks are all from books that I've never heard of, and they are WAY out there. Like, science fiction style strange. Would it be a terrible disservice to use them, even though they are clearly not something the majority of the population would understand? There would be endless pronunciation and spelling issues, I'm sure. But my husband is so attached to them!Anyway, any suggestions?Mom to

Congrats! I don't think it would be a disservice to use a more unusual name. Can you give us a couple examples? Like, more complicated than Daenerys? Is there a possibility he'd be satisfied with using them in the middle name spot, if the spelling and pronunciation worry is too much to bear?I really like the idea of Natalie, Leo and Genevieve and Natalie, Leo and Ronan myself :)

With brother & sister Natalie and Leo, a really out there SciFi first name would be a little weird and if it is hard to pronounce and spell I'm sure it'd be a headache for you and the little one. But if it's a middle name? Go wild! All the names you've currently got a very handsome, so I'm sure you won't go wrong. Good luck and congrats!

I like Sebastian and Genevieve the best. Genevieve is a favorite of mine anyway, but Lilah has two Ls, and I feel like the set gets a bit tongue twistery when you try to say Natalie, Leo, and Lilah. Willow has the same ending sound as Leo. Genevieve comes out on top for those reasons as well.

I suggest you go for something really mainstream as a fn - Genevieve for a girl, and either Ronan or Sebastian for a boy - and turn your DH loose to choose a mn that really means something to him. He'll always know it's there, and nobody else needs to be explained to on a daily basis.I had a colleague who loved a fantasy author that I find extremely dull. But he adored this guy's work and named both his kids from some series, luckily not the main characters. The boy was Arutha and the girl was Gwynnath. Believe me, there were problems. No doubt still are, though the parents split up and I lost touch with both halves. But everyone assumed they were Arthur and Gwyneth anyway, so he might as well have just used the mainstream names and made everyone's lives easier.

Well, it would really depend on what the names are. My partner dislikes any name that has been the name of a person he's ever met, but does seem to like names from books he has positive associations with them. If the names are totally made up, like Daenerys then I wouldn't do it, but if they're just unusual like Inigo I'd consider it. I really like Lila (without the H) but if you're pronouncing it lee-la it's too close to Leo. Ronan is also really handsome. some suggestions:
Ava
Audrey
Caroline
Charlotte
Felicity
Isabel
Josephine
Juliet
Marina
Maya
Nora
Sophia
Stella
Violet Devlin
Gavin
Henry
Isaac
Liam
Max
Noah
Oliver
Owen
Quinn
Tristan
William

Lilah Willow would be a gorgeous combo imo, although I prefer Lila to Lilah. Sebastian is such a handsome name, I really like it. Personally I wouldn't use science fiction names, especially if they will make things difficult for the child, as far as spelling and pronunciation. Some other suggestions are: Ivy
Phoebe
Matilda
Sophie
Ruby
Hannah
Tessa
Alice
Violet
ZaraOscar
Miles
Felix
Tobias
Asher
Gabriel
Hugo
Jude
Ezra
