Nathan.
I've had Nathaniel on my list for ages, but I've discovered I far prefer Nathan. It's so much simpler in style, less biblical. I really like it, and it has the added bonus of not being my soon to be brother's-in-law name. (Nathaniel nn Nate)What do you guys think? Nathan Ross was the first combo to jump in my head, but I think it's too preppy for me. Wdyt of Nathan August?

Nathaniel is the name of one of my ancestors. Nathan can be used as an independent name, but I perfer it as a nickname as a nickname for Nathaniel.

I far prefer Nathan to Nathaniel, but I would probably never use it. It's one of those names I like on other people's kids. :DI prefer Nathan Ross to Nathan August (I don't like August for a boy at all), but I think Nathan August has a good flow to it.

I_Love_Jesus...Talking in all caps is considered shouting, and netspeak (e.g., "U") is not allowed on this forum. You have been here long enough to know the rules, you have received multiple reminders, and yet you continue to do these things. Knock it off already.

Thanks.I was going to say the same. It's just really annoying.

I loathe Nathaniel for so many reasons - mainly because I think its ugly. However, I ADORE Nathan! I love it. Nathan Ross is cute, but I dont like August as a name.

I actually dislike Nate- names except for Nathaniel, and I like that one only because of Hawthorne, so I'm not a fan, I'm afraid. It's nice for someone else, though, and I like it as you've explained it. I think the flow of Nathan August is somewhat stunted (two syllables after each other and all, eh). I prefer Nathan Ross, but I see what you mean. How about Nathan Augustus or Nathan Augustin(e)?

Nathan Augustine is awesome. You have St. Augustine, after all.It honestly seems that as soon as I get a favorite name, there's a reason I can't use it. Isaac, Nathaniel, Peter, Emma, Faith, Lilia, Miri. I just hope I have kids before my sister does, and before more names are knocked off the list.

It's a bit common for my taste but I like it enough for someone else.

Nathaniel, I love, but Nathan just sounds unattractive to me, I'm afraid.Nathan Hale is what comes to mind first, but that's taken. ;) Nathan Augustus would flow better to my ears.Array
