Margaret and Charles were hit hard by the stock market crash. Some days the family goes without eating. They are hoping and praying things get better soon. Despite the hard time all the kids are in school.

Rose and Walter welcomed identical twin girls Joan and Joyce in 1928. Thomas has always loved his little sisters and loves playing with them. Walter constantly worries about the economy and the future. Rose tries to be more optimistic.

In 1926 Robert and Betty married. A year later they welcomed a boy who they named Raymond Paul, after Robert's brother who died when he was young. Two years later they welcomed twin boys who they named Jerry and Roger. Robert is lucky and still has a good job.
