[Opinions] Modern Short Story Character Names
I am writing a story about three people based off me and some people I know, but I can't use their names. I need names for two of these characters.
All three characters are young adults (the oldest being 24 and the youngest being 21) and the story takes place in the modern day. The main antagonist has already been named Joshua, but goes by Josh in the story, so the other two characters' names can't feel out of place with it. The main protagonist is a woman, and she is somewhat cynical but she tries to be supportive. The other character who needs a name is a man, and he's super sweet and sees the best in everyone.I'd appreciate your help!

I'd pick some common names from the years they are supposed to be born, if the story is meant to feel like a relatable or believable experience.Maybe for the female character something like Hannah, Alexis, Lauren, Natalie. For the boy, maybe Daniel, Aidan, Gavin, Seth?

When a baby is born and named, the parents have no idea how it will turn out as an adult. Which means that any name for any character will be as good as any other.
