It's a boy!
If you had a baby boy today, what would his name be? Please post the combo as the subject line!!!

I guess? I think I'd really want more time to think about it, but that's not a bad combo, imo, and it even honours my paternal grandfather (Leo).

...although I do love the names Walter and Emerson (boy or girl for that one) so I'd love to work one or both in there too. Also, Blake would be an honoring name I could throw in the mix. Bodhi (meaning "awake" in the Buddhist tradition) has been on my mind today though (for either a boy or girl) so I'm testing it out I guess. :)
Fun question. Thanks!

Hugo Daniel Thomas, known as Dan
Our son's names were largely my doing, so for another one I'd use a tradition from DH's family: an H name + Daniel. The original ancestor used Daniel, and who wouldn't - his first name was Horace. And I prefer Daniel to most H- names, so there it is. Both my grandfathers were named Thomas, so that was easy.

Harvey Joe
Joe would be after my father and brother. They're both Joseph but only ever go by Joe. I think it makes a nice, homey middle name for a boy.
As for Harvey, its one of very few boys names I can actually picture on a son.
My other thought was Ogden Joe. I adore the look and sound of Ogden but I dislike the poet so it was bumped.

One of my favourite combos.
Franklin Oliver Ivan
Franklin - I love the name, it also honours the name Frank.
Oliver - Just a name I like and it fitted.
Ivan - My maternal grandfather's name, I like it and it fits.
Or maybe
Franklin Oliver Lee (Have swapped this as the subject title name several times so like joint top)
Franklin Lee Oliver
Franklin Lee James
Franklin Lee William
Franklin Lee Ivan
Franklin Kennedy John (a bit over the top probably)
Let's get away from the franklin names before I get carried away...
Indio Edwin Leo

Orlando Robert John
Love Orlando! It rolls around nicely with Robert.
Jonah Nicholas
Love the name Jonah!
Peter Eliasz
Just for today, I'd go the full-on honoring route.
Peter is my brother's middle name. Eliasz comes close enough to honoring my mother to satisfy me. It's a form of Elijah, not Elizabeth, but both are biblical names that start with Eli-, and I like that it's from her first language (Polish.)

Oscar Felix Matthias

Grover Felix Matthias

While I hate the nickname Gus, the rest of this combo is perfect. Felix is an awesome MN, and I've considered adding Matthias to my list.
Alexander Idris
I think on the middle name... that would take some hashing out. It has to be honoring, so our options are limited as it is. Philip or Garth would probably be the only others I'd pick from. Possibly Evan.
Actually Alex(ander) has really been on my mind for a few months if we had another boy, and today in the car my son (7) randomly started saying if we have another baby it should have an e in the middle like his name and his sister's name, so I was like, well there's always Alex... ha

Probably he'd be Jacek Filip (I'm Polish).
Well, as I wrote I'm from Poland and I'm crazy lover of the name JACEK. FILIP is one of my favorite Polish names. I like also ALEKSANDER so Jacek Aleksander would be great. I think the name ARMIN is amazing although extremely uncommon in my country and not in the same style as Jacek so he rather wuldn't be Jacek Armin. But if I were from English-speaking country my son would be JACK or HYACINTH. Maybe Jack FINN, DECLAN Jack, Hyacinth ALEXANDER, or RASMUS Hyacinth or Hyacinth Rasmus.

No, not really, I only know a couple of little words and phrases through speaking to friends, but I would like to learn the language one day. Welcome to the boards!
So if you'll want to begin to learn I'm willing to help you with it :)
That's really sweet of you, thank you for the offer :)
I love Jacek! lol it was the name of one of my OBs and he was gorgeous :)
I quite like Jacek Filip. The flow and general feel of the name is both solid and impressive.
To be honest, I like it better than Jacek Aleksander, but both have great flow.
Hyacinth on a boy would be quite the thing in the states! I like it a lot, but it would raise some brows. We almost went with Giacinto, the Italian male version, as a middle name and I was worried about that!
Hyacinth Alexander is a spunky option! I would totally get on board with that, though I am not sure I would have the guts to use it myself.

I am a bit surprized that Hyacinth in US is generally a girl's name. I knew it always as a boy's, even though it has such a girly meaning. I always considered that Jacinda is only feminine form of it. Hmm, so now I'm not so sure that my son really would be Hyacinth. Giacinto in Italy isn't bad name, but in US or in whichever English-speaking country it sounds bad, even awfully, in my opinion.
Really? I find Giacinto to be charming.
It's pronounced with a soft G, similar to an English J.... like Jah-sin-toe.
Though, part of my name is Gioia... and I grew up in an Italian family. So, these sounds are familiar.
Hyacinth is not a common names at all, so it's not so much that it is girly... but that it is rare and, if even used, it is used on girls.
I like it for boys or girls though.

Ah, so if in US it's pronounced the same way as in Italy, it's not so strange. At first I thought it's pronounced by the other way than in Italy, more hard. But if it's the same pronounciation it's really charming.

A toss up between Cole Alexander and Cole Emerson
Emerson as an honoring name to my sister, Emily.
I'm aware that Alexander is a filler name but its so strong, classic and masculine and pairs so well with Cole. A long name with a short name-great combo balance. I also really love the name Logan (popularity does not bother me)

This could be a George Harrison tribute name. There's a really cute part of the movie A Hard Day's Night where an interviewer asks him, "What do you call that hairstyle you're wearing?" and he deadpans: "Arthur."

Yeah, I like more personal names a lot of the time. My "future children's name list" is full of honoring names mixed in with names I like just because.
Patrick Anthony Gerard used to be just Patrick Gerard, but that didn't seem like enough. Renard isn't that far in sound from Gerard, that's kinda funny.

Loic Makisig Noel
We finally settled on this combo for SURE during our anniversary dinner last Friday.
DH had a moment of genius with Noel. It's his eldest brother's name, and it is also my twin sister's middle name, plus it's Christmas-y, and LO will be born first week in December.
Super stoked to have a name set!

Yeah, that's the thing: if you're asking what I would actually name a child, I'll always go with a more traditional choice. I just can't see myself putting anything too weird on a birth certificate.
Thanks for the compliment. :)

By BtN standards it's boring, but I like Nathan and always have. I don't know if I would go with Michael as a middle, but it would be honoring both sides of the family, so that's a plus. And, it would sound great with our surname.

August Barnaby is great, but St. James is not for me personally.
Thanks! I know St James isn't for a lot of people, haha.
Yeah, another August fan! I was so happy when I found out my grandpa's MN was August, because I love that name.

Thank you!
Exactly. Why not Barnaby? Totally digging this combo. It's spunky, yet totally grounded with August.
