Baby number four is here, and he’s a boy! Your spouse really wants to name him Henry after his grandfather. What do you say? Do you like the name, or do you have to compromise by using a variation or putting it as a middle name?

It has been a little more than four months since we moved into our new house, and the timing couldn't have been better with the recent arrival of Baby Silva #4. Our son, Jude Henry, came into the world on October 2nd, weighing 7 pounds, 12 ounces; 19 1/2 inches long, with brown hair and hazel eyes.
Jude is the first of our children that we had somewhat of a difficult time naming. Luke wanted to name him Henry after his grandfather, but it's not a name that I am at all fond of. We discussed it extensively, went back and forth, and finally decided that the best thing to do would be to give him his own first name and use Henry as a middle name. Jude has been a favorite of mine for a long time, and Luke agreed that it was one on my list that he also liked, so went with it, and I think it fits him wonderfully.
Ellie Grace is five years old and in kindergarten. She enjoys school, although we did have a recent problem when she came home one day and said she never wanted to go back. Once we sat down with her and talked about it, we came to find out that our little girl is quite the perfectionist, so when one of her classmates teased her about not being able to read a particular word in a book, she broke down. Ellie is quite advanced for her age and can read very well, but as with every five-year-old, she can't make out every word in every book. So, we had to talk with her about the fact that there will be times when she won't know something and will have to ask for help, and that's okay. And as for her classmate, sometimes people do and say things that they shouldn't, and we have to forgive them and keep going. Needless to say, she understood well, went back to school the next day, and came home as the sunshiney little girl that we all know and love.
The twins, Grant and Cade, are now two years old, and although they aren't the babies anymore, they enjoy their roles as big brothers. Cade is still a lot more outgoing, independent, and risk-taking than Grant, although they're both very friendly and curious little boys.

Choosing a name this time wasn't as easy as it was for the twins; Jack insisted on using the name Henry to honor his grandfather, who recently passed away. I liked the idea, but unfortunately, I didn't like the name. We eventually compromised and ended up using Henry as the middle name, and since that was Jack's choice, I got to choose the first name. I settled on Liam, which I've loved for a long time and finally got Jack to admit to liking as well.
Emma loves school and interacting with all of her friends, but she's had some trouble keeping up with her peers in her reading abilities. This was definitely news to Jack and me, since Emma loves reading out loud at home, to us or to her brothers. The teacher called us in to discuss the matter. Emma was there as well, and after twenty minutes of us throwing around all possible reasons for her trouble, she admitted that she doesn't like other people to see her mess up. We then spent the next twenty minutes trying to persuade her that the other kids wouldn't make fun of her, but by that time she'd lost interest and was solely focused on getting back home to play. I guess we'll have to work on that reading thing bit by bit.

Well Louie is now 5, and the twins are now 2, and we welcomed our third son into our home just recently. Chris was completely apt to having his name be Henry honoring his grandfather, but I simply don't like the name, so I bribed him and got him to let it be one of his middle names... so we now welcomed home Asher Henry Connor... although he will be going by Asher Henry for some time! Lou is now in kindergarten and she is loving it so much. The twins are a handful and Damian is always so quite but so troublesome! Xander is usually both loud and troublesome- well Damian's worse and you never know when he's up to something!

Well Louie is now 5, and the twins are now 2, and we welcomed our third son into our home just recently. Chris was completely apt to having his name be Henry honoring his grandfather, but I simply don't like the name, so I bribed him and got him to let it be one of his middle names... so we now welcomed home Asher Henry Connor... although he will be going by Asher Henry for some time! Lou is now in kindergarten and she is loving it so much. The twins are a handful and Damian is always so quite but so troublesome! Xander is usually both loud and troublesome- well Damian's worse and you never know when he's up to something!

As Alex and Elisabeth already had a Harry they decided it was unecessary to name him Henry. Meanwhile Nan is struggling at school and has been diagnosed with dyselxia.

Oops. I KNEW I was forgetting something. I had meant to check and see if anyone had already had a Henry/Harry. That's alright though :o)

Desmond Harry was born last week! He's huge and healthy. So far, we can tell that his hair is going to be just as dark as his daddy's, and his eyes are a crystal blue. We used Harry as a middle name because Michael and I couldn't agree on how to honour our family. He wanted to honour his grandfather Henry, and I wanted to honour my dad Harold, but Harry is a nickname for both. The kids love having him, especially Milo, who is happier than we thought he could be about being a big brother.
Genevieve had a problem with another girl at school. They fought over some toy during playtime, and Genevieve was a little aggressive. We have no idea where she learned this behaviour, but she's very remorseful and we're sure she wont do it again. She did have to be punished for a few days though.

Baby #4
With Daisy's due date creeping nearer and nearer, Daisy and Ray started dicussing names. Ray was keen to name the new baby either "Henry" or "Henrietta", which was his deaseased grandfather's middle name (Henry, of course, not Henrietta). Daisy wasn't quite tactless enough to deny him this, so she said she'd think about it.
Fast foward three months, with their new son (another brunette) just born and Daisy out of her head on pain-killers. Ray was standing by the crib, waving his fingers at "little Henry". Daisy snapped, and told him there was no way in HELL that she was calling her child that.
Ray, who had a feeling this might have happened, quickly suggested Harry, a pet variation of Henry and also one of the cockney gangsters on The Getaway. Daisy refused ("it still sounds so *posh*"), and then revealed that she wouldn't mind using Enrique. Horrified at the mear suggestion, Ray whined on about how she had decieved him with the twins, and how it wasn't fair that she always got to choose the names, and how he'd found a dead body, and a lot of other junk which apparently just a clever ruse to get Daisy to feel sorry for him. Unable to stand the whining, Daisy finally caved in and agreed on Harry. As a MIDDLE name. But then, to Ray's amazed delight, she told him that she liked Reginald (his grandfather's first name), and why didn't they call him that?
So, finally, Reginald Harry (or "Reggie", as Daisy fondly called him) was named.
Violet, meanwhile, managed to get herself expelled from primary school before she'd hardly started. Sitting in Art one day, a pair of round-edged scissors clutched in her little hand, Violet decided she wanted to become a hairdresser, and convinced her friend Camilla to let her try out a mohican cut ("like Daddy's"). Unfortunately, the results were not exactly what Daisy planned. Camilla was sporting a skin-head by the end of the day, and naturally, her mother flipped. Unfortunately, Camilla's mother was The Honourable Regina Amberlynn Faxley-Harrison, wife of an MP and daughter of a Vicount. What Regina wanted, Regina got - and sadly, what Regina wanted this time was the complete expulsion of Violet Valentine-Driver.

Naming our son became something of an ordeal as Christopher insisted that we name him Henry, after his grandfather but I don't like the name Henry at all. Rosie seemed at a loss for why we were so concerned about naming the baby. She tried to help by giving Christopher a list of names that she liked but I doubt Christopher even looked at the list. In the end I gave in but only after insisting that we call him Gabriel. So Gabriel was born, and he seems to have the endless calm that Rosie inherited from her father, which goes very well with his name or really nickname. Rosie absolutely adores him.
Rosie and William are closer then close. Since we are neighbors it is easy for them to get together and as often as not William would join us for dinner and then sometimes both William and Rosie would eat dinner with his mother.
