[Opinions] Quads! WDYT?
I'm presently watching a show on Discovery Health channel called "Multiple Miracles". A family in Australia has a two year old, 1 year old quads, and were pregnant with another set of quads. One of the last set passed away in utero, so they were triplets which = 8 children under the age of 3! I personally think they are crazy, since they tried so soon to get pregnant after the FIRST SET OF QUADS!....But anyway. I decided to look them up online to get all the names straight (like a true namenerd). This is an interesting site, btw: http://www.threebluestars.com/multiples/Here they are:
DH: Darren
DW: Dale
DD: Shelby
DD/DD/DS/DS: Ellie / Emma / Joseph / Samuel
DD/DD/DS: Sarah Jane / Alice Louisa / Matthew Phillip(?)
(Milly Renee was stillborn)
Speaking of quads, the NICU where I work recently welcomed our first set of quads in years. And triplets the same day! I don't have all the details on either sibset, but this is what I know so far about the quads:
DD/DD/DD/DS: Olivia / Abrielle / Faith Ellen / Nelson "Isaac" Too many babies! LOL.

DD: Shelby -Hate it.
DD/DD/DS/DS: Ellie / Emma / Joseph / Samuel - The girls names are too trendy for my taste, but Joseph and Samuel are fantastic.
DD/DD/DS: Sarah Jane / Alice Louisa / Matthew Phillip / Milly Renee -Sarah Jane is plain, but still pretty. Alice Louisa is gorgeous. Matthew Phillip is great. Milly Renne is nms, but Matilda Renee would be gorgeous.Yeah... I agree. Definetly crazy!

Wow. I'm all for big families, but I think I'd go insane with 8 kids under the age of three. I like Ellie, Samuel, Alice Louisa, and Matthew Phillip. All of the names seem a bit boring imo anyway. If they were mine, this is what I'd name them. At least for today.DD: Clara
DD/DD/DS/DS: Heidi / Theodora "Thea" / Josiah / Peter
DD/DD/DS: Ivah / Opal / Levi

After having only ONE I can't imagine having EIGHT! Or nine, as there would have been had one not died. I'm actually watching the show on Tivo right now. I'm just shocked that after having one, and she was told that if she had more she'd die, they waited only seven weeks to try again! Augh! At seven weeks postpartum, I didn't even want to THINK about having another baby. And then to try only 7 months after having quads? Yikes!
As for the names, I think they are kind of boring. Except Alice, because I ADORE the name Alice. But Alice Louisa is dull. Milly is cute, as a nickname for something.

I think they are insane for trying to get pregnant with one year old quads! I can't imagine the work involved. Samuel is the only name I care for.Leslie, lucky mommy to Scott (2000), Delaney (2002), and Larissa (2005)

I heard about them a while ago. I just think about all the problems and heartache we had while my aunt carried our quads, they were lucky that that they had healthy babies. Because we lost the girls my aunt and uncle are too heart broken to try for another baby.
They are very luck.Names:
I like
Emma
Joseph
Samuel
Alice Louisa
Milly (getting popular here)

Yeah, 8 is way to many. To each it's own, but when you have that many so close together, you have to wonder about the quality of life... Ok, on to the names... I lothe Shelby on a girl, same with Kirby, just shouldn't be. I prefer Ella, but having and Ella and Emma would have been worse, so I guess Ellie is okay. Joseph and Samuel are on my list of OK popular names. ;c) Sarah Jane happens to be my cousins name, so I am partial to that. Don't care much for Alice Louisa, Matthew or Phillip. And Milly reminds me of an animal. :(

Oops!Hah, forgot to mention the other names...I don't like Olivia or Abrielle. The A in Abrielle seem unnecessary. I don't care for virtue names so and Ellen doesn't go well with Faith to me. I would have gone with just Isaac. :-pEDIT: I can't seem to spell tonight.

Absolutely nuts--I think I'd go insane with that many children. It seems rather irresponsible to me to have that many children so closely together. I'm not against big families in general, but the fact that they're all so close in age...I'd have a hard time giving them all individual attention. The only names I like of those are Darren, Jane, Alice, Louisa, and Renee. And of the quads at your work, I only like Ellen, Nelson, and Isaac.Array

I saw it too. I though they were really selfish considering they were staying with there parents and their parents were helping out a lot. It really made me angry but its not my place to judge.I think they chose decent names they. I really like Samuel, Joseph, Matthew, and Sarah Jane. Emma is cute, Ellie is a little too cute. I hate Alice. I love Louisa. Shelby is ok.I also like Oliva from the other set but really dislike the rest.

I'm always dissapointed in the names couples choose for their multiples. They seem to never work, for me anyway.I dislike Shelby and I think that name sticks out the most out of the sibset. Ellie and Emma, in the same batch? I dislike Joseph, but I like Samuel "Sam". Sarah Jane and Alice Louisa is cute. I love Sara and I adore Alice. I dislike Matthew. Milly Renee? ick. That is a lot of kids tho. I think it would be so cool! If they were mine (not doing mn's)
DD: Charlotte
DD/DD/DS/DS: Elizabeth / Anna or maybe Tessa / James / Samuel
DD/DD/DS: Sara / Alice / Moses or Malachi
Faith Ellen is sweet. I dont know about Abrielle and Nelson, but I like Olivia, Faith, and Isaac together.

I agree - eight is too manyway too many. I do like the names - especially Sarah Jane, Alice Louisa, and Matthew Phillip. (Milly Renee is cute, but cutesy) Joseph and Samuel are also ncie.

I like classic names, but Matthew, Sarah, Joseph are SO overused. Could definitely be worse, though.

Is Dale a NN for something? I don't like it for either, but not a girl esp.I like Emma, Joseph, and Samuel, but I'm hoping that Ellie is a NN. I like it, but it would be best as a NN. Sarah, Alice, and Matthew all have nice names, and I think overall, the only name that sticks out is Shelby. Sure, Ellie and Emma are a little trendier than their siblings, but Shelby doesn't fit with the traditional style of the overall names. Millie is also too NN. Overall, nice.I like Olivia, though popular. Abrielle just makes me say Huh? I don't like Faith nor Nelson, but I'm wondering why he's called Issac?!

Milly wasn't a nn, but I'm not sure about Ellie. I agree that Shelby doesn't "fit". I don't think Dale is a nn. My mother works with a woman named Dale so it doesn't seem that strange on a woman to me, but I don't care for it, either. :b I can't stand Abrielle. It sticks out a bit, imo. I'm not sure if Nelson is that dad's name and that's why he'll be called Isaac (which I'm assuming is his mn)?? Not overjoyed at Faith but it's better than Abrielle, lol.

I agree. I work with a female Dale everyday, so it's not strange to me either, although at first it took awhile of getting use too. ~Lisa~
