[Opinions] Wilhelmina
What does everyone think about Wilhelmina?I am loving it at the moment and I think it might even rival Daphne and Winifred. Husband likes it but prefers Daphne and Winifred more. I love the idea of calling her Bill or Billie.
Only issue with Wilhelmina is I don't think Hilda works with it.. 1) What do you think of Wilhelmina?2) What second middle name would you pair with Wilhelmina and Hilda (Wilhelmina ____ Hilda or Wilhelmina Hilda ______ )3) Do you like Wilhelmina better than Daphne or WInifred?
4) What nickname for Wilhelmina do you like best?5) What would you name a brother for Wilhelmina?

I love Wilhelmina nn Billie! I also love the nickname Mina but like Billie better.I actually like it more than either Daphne or Winifred. The nicknames are a bit more spunky yet it's a hell of a full name. I can just imagine your sporty surfy music playing little Billie!Wilhelmina Edith Hilda
Wilhelmina Blythe Hilda
Wilhelmina Eve Hilda
Wilhelmina Eleanor Hilda
Wilhelmina Verity HildaAny of your top boys names would work brilliantly with Wilhelmina

1. I really like it. 2. I think Wilhelmina and Hilda are too close in letters to work as a combo, but if I had to, maybe Wilhelmina June Hilda or Wilhelmina Hilda Rosette.3. Daphne is one of my all-time favourite names so it's not fair to compare it to Wilhelmina, but Wilhelmina is definitely in my top 50 girls' names. 4. My imaginative nickname for it is Whimsy. Wilhelmina nn Whimsy. I also really like Minnie.5. Something airy and poignant, like Pascal or Sylvain.

I think Wilhelmina is beautiful.
2. I'm not sure. Something with three syllables. Personally I think Hilda Wilhelmina sounds better than Wilhelmina Hilda.
3. Yes, I don't like Daphne or Winifred at all.
4. I think Mina is the cutest nn.
5. Not sure. Alexander?

It's cute, but in a cartoony kind of way. Wilhelmina the Not-so-Wicked Witch or Wilhelmina the Wild Weasel or something like that.
I like it a lot better than Winifred, which is a sour, sullen kind of name. You could even use Winnie as a nn.
I don't think it's as attractive as Daphne, which I don't really like either because I picture a snobby rich girl who is an expert at everything she does, to hear her tell it. But Daphne does seem more youthful, less goofy, and much less of a mouthful.I would not want more than one short middle name for a jawbreaker like Wilhelmina. My husband is now doing some genealogy research on his family, and there's a great-grandmother, (I forget how many greats) named Wilhelmina. She was called Willie. The funny thing is that her husband was William, called Bill. If I was a girl I absolutely wouldn't want to be called Bill, but I could maybe tolerate Willie, if I had to. Maybe Billie, but they are so Dust Bowl here in the US.
There's always Mina.Wilhelmina would probably have a brother named Frederick.

I like Wilhelmina alright. It's a family name on my mom's side of the family (but spelled with a V). I prefer Wilhelmina over Winifred but Wilhelmina Hilda sounds quite rhymey. It might sound better if you put another name between them. I kinda like the idea of Bill/Billie as nicknames, but I think my favorite nicknames are Willa and Mina.

I don't particularly like Wilhelmina. I don't hate it, but there are other names in the same style that I like much better.
If you want to use Hilda with it, I think you should put another name in the middle and use Hilda as a second middle name. Preferably something more spunky, like Wilhelmina Fern Hilda, Wilhelmina Primrose Hilda or Wilhelmina Lola Hilda.
I prefer Wilhelmina to Daphne or Winifred, but I really don't like those two, so that doesn't mean much.
As a nickname I'd go with Willa, but Billie could work too. Bill on a girl seems a bit ridiculous.
I'd name a brother for Wilhelmina Albert, Alfred, Gilbert "Gil" or Archibald.

I like the name Wilhelmina as a great-grandma throwback (which is in vogue now) that isn't nearly as common as the others. I might even like the spelling Willemina, or Willamina, better. The only nickname I'm familiar with Wilhelminas using, though, is actually Lilly.Daphne Wilhelmina is a good combo, IMO.

I like the sound, but not the visual. It bothers me the sound flows, but the visual is so clunky. (Oddly Eoforhild doesn't bother me) Instead I go for Willemina, and like that it clicks with my family being Dutch. Billie I don't like.Wilhelmina Violet Hilda? Wilhelmina Clarice Hilda? Wilhelmina Anne Hilda? I'm struggling to combo it well. I think in part because 4 syllables is quite long for 2 middle names. I agree though that Wilhelmina and Hilda don't sit quite right on their own.I like Daphne best, but do prefer Wilhelmina to Winifred. I would call her Mina or Will.Wilhelmina and Henricus

1) I like Wilhelmina. My impression of it: elegant, strong, old-fashioned.2) I dislike it with Hilda, both because Wil/Hil rhymes and because the hel/hil parts, while slightly different, seem redundant.
For a 2nd MN, I would pick something short, not German, that doesn't end in A: Wilhelmina Maeve Hilda
Wilhelmina Irene Hilda3) I would use it before the other two, personally, but for other people I like it about the same as Daphne (and more than Winifred).4) Willa would seem like the most natural NN to me.5) Uh... Ludovic, Frederick, Ferdinand, Oskar, August, Theodore, Peregrine, Ernst, Ignacio, Edwin, Amadeo, Sigmund, Philip, Alexander, Waldo, Walter, Franz, Joachim, Isidore, Alaric, Athanaric, Theodoric, Anselm, Damien, Daniel, Emmanuel, Emeric, Octavian, Albert, Albus, Cassander, Leander, Caius, Gaius, Miles

1. I think Wilhelmina is cool but I prefer Wilhelmine. Easier to navigate, or something.2. I don't think I would use Wilhelmina and Hilda together... But I guess something like Wilhelmina Elise Hilda or Wilhelmina Rose Hilda. Something sturdy and recognizable that doesn't end in a vowel.3. I like Daphne the best out of those three, but I would like Wilhelmina "Willa" best if you were to use that nickname.4. Willa5. Ferdinand

1. It's actually my maternal great-grandmothers name and I actually love it.2. Wilhelmina Lenore Hilda... I don't know I am horrible at just adding a second middle name...3. Yes, 100% more than both of them.4. I like Mina but I don't mind Billie.5. Something long because I like names that are similar in length to each other so Benedikt, Mordecai, Morgan, Thatcher, etc.

I like it, it s a solid name and nice to look at and say! Idk, I will get back to you on that one! Yes, but they all ranked the same to me! Willa or Mina! Wil is fine too! I already have a story with a character named Wilhelmina nicknamed Willa, whose older siblings are Bartholomew "Bart" and Dorcas "Dory"

Ooh!!! Wilhelmina and Bartholomew are awesome siblings! Bill & Tolly are the nicknames i'd probably use.

Well they are all goat-people, meaning the have human bodies with appendages of goats, and live in a fantasy world with other humanoid animals! So Willa's name would have an obvious pun to it! Also I suggest another German name to go with it in a combo!

I think it's cool although not my personal style. When it's spelled Wilhelmina, though, I want to pronounce it with a V sound at the beginning. So I prefer Willemina or Willamina if it's said with a W sound.Calling a girl Bill turns me off, but Billie is appealing.Wilhelmina Jane Hilda
The reason it doesn't work with Hilda is the Wil/Hil rhyme. Putting Hilda last breaks it up and makes it more an agreement than a rhyme.I like them in this order:
Willemina "Billie"
Daphne
Wilhelmina "Billie"
Winifred
Wilhelmina "Bill"
Not a huge gap between them, except between Bill and all the rest.Wilhelmina "Billie" and Ansel, Frans, Clement, Gerard, Edwin, Lars
