I love Bartholomew, but I don’t like any of the nicknames. I guess Barry is okay, but I hate Bart. I like the name for a cat.

Bartholomew is one of those rare long names that sounds best in full. If pressed, I would go with holeyg's suggestion of Tholo. I also like Athos and Ollie.

Hi !!!I like Bartholomew! Its -mew ending is so spunky and friendly to my ears!! About the nicknames I really like Barry for it. Bart is just 'Simpson', Bartie is 'Harry Potter' (Barty Crouch & Barty Crouch Jr.) while Buddy is both doggy or 'Cake Boss, Buddy Valastro'.Siblings for Bartholomew? Simple but not Biblical:Jack
Percy
Melody
Rose
Jane
Sybil
Cora
Arthur
Harry
William
August
Dean
Brendan
Roland
Elinor
Zara
VincentI also love Bartolomé and Barthélémy.

I think it's great, but could be hard to live with because it's pretty over-the-top (though honestly that's part of what I like about it). Bart is the best nickname out of the ones you mentioned, but the Simpsons association is awfully dominant. Maybe Bard or Tholo or Tolo would work instead.

I hate it because of the MYOO sound at the end, similar to the reason I hate Matthew because of the THYOO sound at the end. But while I don't mind Matt, I dislike all of the nicknames for Bartholomew in addition to the full name.

Too complicated for everyday use, and since Bart is the only nn I enjoy, I'd rather use Bartlemy and have done with it.The -mew ending could make it a good name for a cat, though.
