Your 2014 name
Last year there was this fun topic, where I copied this idea. I don't know/remember who made that topic back then, but all honor to them for this idea!So... Look up where your first and middle names ranked the year you were born and find the name that ranked the same in 2014 to come up with your new name. For example, my name is Emma Johanna and I was born in 1992. In 1992 Emma was ranked 104th and Johanna 391st, so my new name would be Bailey Logan. (And, to be honest, I totally prefer my original name...)What is your 2014 name? Do you like it?

I would be Eva Lila, or if I were a boy, Zachary Oscar. Eva and Lila are both pretty but too rhymey for a combo.

Alexa GwendolynOr Alexa Justice. Justice and Gwendolyn are tied. It's not terrible but I prefer my original name.My SO would be Nolan Connor, which is hilarious because we just discussing the name Nolan last night. Probably my favorite of all of these. My family would be:
Alexander (MN has never charted)
Raelynn Ashley - oh dearAlexa Gwendolyn
Madison Jada or Madison Kathryn - My sister goes by a nickname that is used as a first name as well, doing that name would make her Kiara.
Carter Landon - not too bad actually. Definitely trendy, but sounds pretty good. It's interesting that we all have fairly classic names but the 2014 rank equivalents are rather trendy. For fun, grandparents too.
Liam Griffin
Michael Jayden - not the dreaded Jayden! haha
Mia Zoey
Emma Alayna or Emma Amaya - unsure of the spelling

Alexa Gwendolyn is kinda working for me! Alexa Justice could be your stripper name, it's so glossy and sexy.

Ooh, yeah. Almost sounds like a superhero stripper! Haha!

Addison NorahMine would be Addison Norah. I like Addison but Norah isn't my cup of tea. :)

Alannah KaylaMargarida is peculiar in that its English-language cognates can be either Margaret or Daisy. I looked up options for both.In 1990 Helena was #946, Margaret was #102 and Daisy was #193.2014: Alannah Kayla / Alannah Harmony
2013: Giada Molly / Giada Hayden
2012: Karlie Brooke / Karlie Daniela
2011: Jewel Rylee / Jewel Ryleigh (... seriously, what are the odds?)
2010: Thalia Rylee / Thalia Catherine
2009: Aiyanna Mary / Aiyanna Delilah
2008: Naima Mya / Naima Delilah
2007: Jaclyn Mya / Jaclyn Alina

Candy Daisy is so sickly sweet it almost loops back to being cool. xDI really like Giada, though. Giada Molly is rather nice.

I thought the same about Candy Daisy!Giada is a name that has always slipped under my radar; however, there is something about Giada Molly that makes it eye-catching. Which is funny, because Molly is rather homely to me.

Harper PaisleyI'm using US data since I can't find the data for Germany. My real name is Samantha Maria. In 1987 Samantha was ranked 11th and Maria was ranked 53rd.I definitely prefer my actual name. Harper Paisley is horrible :-(

Emma AlexiaMy real name is Jessica-Kate. I don't particularly like Emma Alexia, it feels more 'popular' than Jessica-Kate ever did =P

I'd be Lucy Lauren!I'd be delighted to be a Lucy, but Lauren, not so much! Lucy Laura is too alliterative for real life, but fun to think about.

Lucy Lauren is pretty rad, I love the alliteration!

Olivia Abigail. Not bad!

Scarlett LeiaI'm surprised by the result but I like it! Scarlett Leia ...nice! It's giving me ideas now, lol.My birth name is Jasmine Janee; I chose the alternate spelling of my mn since my spelling wasn't on the list.

Brandon was 19th in popularity in 1981. The current nineteenth is Lucas. It is okay -- I like the German spelling Lukas a bit more.My middle name is Bijan, which has never scored on popularity charts, to my knowledge.

My family would be:Mom: Lily Vivian (nice!)
Me: Alexa Emily - I don't like it.
Brother: Isaac (middle name didn't chart)
Grandma: Emma "Isabella" Madison
Great-grandma: Alexa Sofia ...and that's all the family members whose years of birth I know.Just for fun, my name in each decade (from birth year 1983) for a century...1973: Barbara Angela
1963: Janice Patricia
1953: Katherine Debra
1943: Jo Judith!
1933: Juanita Margaret (Juanita has really been growing on me)
1923: Agnes Virginia
1913: Minnie Anna
1903: Virginia Marie
1893: Stella Florence - and here we are back in the swing of fashion once again. Fascinating! I like this one best.
1883: Lizzie Bertha. Dang, I wouldn't mess with me. I also like this one, it's got chutzpah. It wouldn't look out of place as the name on a B52 or a bicep tattoo. My grandma's names are also fun to do because they are soo typical for her generation that each incarnation is like the epitome of the age. They also sound like Catholic schoolgirl sisters who eventually turn into blonde valley girls who trade in their crimpers and tube socks to settle down in the suburbs:1897: Mary Margaret Florence

Jordan Olivia to Riley Charlotte. I honestly find the combination absolutely horrid.

My name would change from Catherine Elizabeth to Mackenzie Charlotte. While Charlotte sounds classic, I dislike unisex names, including Mackenzie.

Madyson Layne ---> Madison Lane But Lane is only on the boys list. Gia Hank ;)
Or

Well, my names have ever charted in the US, but if I get to translate it to Madelyn Caroline, I would be Martha Aurora this year, which is very nice. But really, Madeline Carolina is closer, so I guess I'm Adelyn Madilyn ...If I use the Swedish top lists, I'm Maja Isabella.

Adelyn Madilyn. Amazing.

I don't have a middle name, so combining the two ratings of my name from the usa and uk. So it would be Greta Stella which is so different from my actual name, I don't mind it, not that bad, Greta is a nice name and I like Stella, but I am happy with own name.

I find Chloe looks really stupid as a middle name, so it's interesting to see two combos that seem to work!Rose Jessica is totally beautiful. I love seeing trendy middles with classic firsts (except for Chloe).

My full first name doesn't rank in the top #1000, so I'll use my nn which is the first half of my name. I'd be Aaliyah Annabelle, ugh, I don't like either name. My boys name would be Levi Nicholas, which I think is a bit nicer and it flows well.

Elizabeth Nora Ivy is really nice. I'm also partial to Chloe Claire Aurora, because it is ridiculous but has lots of pretty colours in it. Lauren Shelby Dominique is also oddly appealing in a random sort of way.

I thought the same thing about Lauren Shelby Dominique! I strongly dislike all names, especially Shelby. But the combo has a good flow.

I had to use a spelling variant for my middle name but in the year I was born my first and middle names ranked 498 and 148 respectively. My name in 2014 would be Elisa Amy (which is funny because Aimee is my first name).
vote up1
My first name is Swedish of German origin and there is no English version. My middle name is English, but wasn't on the top 1000 the year I was born.My brother would be Max Jayden. I had to use the English version of his middle name (Anders - Andrew)
vote up1
Gracie. My MN is my mother's maiden name.
vote up1
My first name didn't rank in the US for the year I was born so I looked at the UK stats (where I'm from) and it was #140.
Back in the US my middle name ranked #44.So in 2014 I would be...Lyla Claire
Not bad... Not bad at all actually but I do prefer Millie Mary :-)
vote up1
Lyla Claire is snappy! But you're right, nothing's as snappy as Millie Mary.
vote up1
Your first name ranked 3485th place in 1996 in America (the lowest ranking for Millie on the SSA list). Converting to the 2014 name, your 2014 combo is now:Jaylie ClaireFrankly, I prefer Lyla Claire to Jaylie Claire.
vote up1
Lydia VictoriaChelsea Laura at 84 and 19 from 1984 becomes Lydia Victoria in 2014. I think it's quite pretty except I absolutely loathe the name Lydia. It's the only name in the world that I truly hate because of a negative association. Oh well!
vote up1
That's actually a lovely combo I'd consider using. Haha.
vote up1
Really pretty and regal! Too bad about Lydia being a bummer for you :(
vote up1
My full name is Sofia Maria. In the year i was born (1987) Sofia ranked #238 and Maria #53. So my new name would be...Miranda Paisley. I like Miranda, Paisley not soo much.
vote up1
Eden Lailais an okay combo imo. Boy-me would've been Ryker Preston which I would not be happy with. My parents have told me what my twin sister's name would have been if there was one, and in 2014 she would've been Annabelle Paulina. My brother would be Brady Jett, my mom would be Zoe Valentina (heck yeeah), and my dad would be Ryder Liam.

I agree your name is much better than the 2014 name, though Abigail is a nice name.

I would take Melissa Abigail or Abigail Melissa over Destiny or Ann in any combination. I always wanted to be Melissa Anne but my mother thought there were too many vowels since my last name also ends in one.
vote up1
Liesel AlaynaMy birth year was also '92. My first name Lia was not in the top 1000, but my middle name Ellen was at 217.
My new middle name would be Alayna which I think is very pretty though I prefer it spelt Alaina.
For my first name I've just pick any name I like that is not in the top 1000, so I chose Liesel.
I really like this combo, but as I mentioned before I would use Alaina instead of Alayna.

This message was edited 5/11/2015, 10:00 AM

vote up1
Well, I've looked at the ranking of Lia in 1992 and it was in 1082nd place. I've looked around for a name which is in 1082nd place or close to that and from that, you now have:Ellis Alayna
(Well, Ellis is in 1081st place along with Aubriana, Elora, Romina and Tinley but technically it's in 1082nd place)Now I'm not sure which one I like best. :|

Oh, so pretty! Liesel Alayna... love it.

Liesel is a great name. I would spell them Liesl Alaina if I had to use for someone.

Megan was #12 in 1988, and Michele #206. So I'd be... Sofia Cecilia. Not bad. I don't really like double A endings, but I like both names. As for my family members....Parents:Paul (my dad didn't have a middle name)
Emma ClaireSiblings:Romeo Daniel
Jayden David
Claire Emmalee (my sister's full first name - Mary Jo - doesn't chart for the year she was born, so I just used Mary)
Wyatt Grayson...yikes. All of my siblings' names are. Bad.ETA: If I had been a boy, I would've been Benjamin Maverick. Maverick's a little much, but the combo is fine.

Here's mineMy name (in English) is Maximilian Matthias (519th and 1193rd). My middle name is not in the top 1000 but still...
That means my 2014 name would be: Ricky McCoy (weird...)Some of my family:
Anna (mum) -> Melanie
Marcin (Martin) (dad) -> Ezra
Marcin Cyprian (Martin Cyprian) (brother) -> Victor Bairon (that's also weird...)Some of my friends:
Aaron Christopher -> Ryan William
Izabella -> Aribella (similar but not so similar)
Lydia -> AngelinaI don't know the middle names for Izzy and Lydia.
vote up1
My first name (Moira) didn't enter the list the year I was born, but it was #983 in 1968, the last year it entered the list. My middle name Maria was #39 in my birth year, #983 and #39 today would be...Aya/Ireland/Mercedes/Rosalyn SavannahThere is no #983, but these are the four #982s, so I'll go with those. I dislike Savannah and Mercedes. Rosalyn and Aya are alright, I wouldn't be too bothered with those. Ireland, I have to admit, is a guilty pleasure of mine. I think it'd also suit me better than the other three. And it would still make my first name "Irish", haha.

1994: Elizabeth Jane
2014: Madison AylinUgh, I hate what it would be in 2014. Admittedly, my parents also considered naming me Laura Elizabeth, which in 2014 would translate to Sadie Madison...a bit better than Madison Aylin, but still not great. Also, I was actually born Jane Elizabeth (but stayed that only for a few hours) - in which case I'd be Aylin Madison. How ugly!

Oh God. I'm about to get an American name... Hehee!Nia Caitlin: Nia is 310, and Caitlin is 89 (in 2001). My new name is Rosalie Madeline. Well, it could have been a lot worse! Though I'd have preferred Rosalie Madeleine. If I was a boy, I'd have been Dominick Bentley. Ew. They could have at least spelt Dominic'k' without the 'k'! And Bentley... I have no words.

Paul Benjamin (49, 33 - 1990) = Eli Henry (2014)ETA: By the same statistics, if I had been born female in 1990, my name would have been Cassandra Victoria; if I had been born female in 2014, my name would have been Nora Samantha.

Wow you lucked out both times, those are delightful combos! And, you are so totally a Cassandra.

Eli Henry is very nice. The final vowel sounds complement each other nicely. The girl names don't really do that unfortunately. I think I would pick Nora Samantha over Cassandra Victoria but I don't know why.

My male counterparts would be Jacob Austin (1997) and Liam James (2014)....Why does the latter sound vaguely familiar?

My 2014 male equivalent would be James Enzo - for YOB it would be Nicholas Leonard. Both are still so much better than the female equivalent, though between the two I'd rather be a James than a Nicholas.

My male equivalents would be Raymond Beau (1992) and Vincent Phillip (2014). I like the latter one a lot!

Camila Zoey. Not bad except they are both spelling abominations. But appropriate in that my mother's name was Zoe!

Camila isn't a spelling abomination; it's the Spanish form. If it had two L's, they'd have to pronounce it with a Y sound.

Inappropriate in that I'm not Spanish, then. Everyone I know would consider it a misspelling.
