Oenone seems so wise for some reason. The meaning puts me off a little, but I guess it's not worse than Maeve. I love Anatole.I like Ginevra, Leopoldine, Lucrezia, Anselm, Arkady, and Moses.

LeoIf you were to do a top fantasy / GP names list, you'd want to do it independently of this thread if only because this one is used for BtN data purposes (tracking the favorites of the group). If you do two responses, one might usurp the other in the data.

Xenia is delightful. Nearly made it to my list.

I like most of these. Wolfgang, Dragomir, and Cassiopeia seem dramatic but not in a bad way. My favorites right now are probably Basil, Taliesin, Wolfgang, Cassiopeia, Léonie, and Sophronia. Plus Rosalind and Emmanuel are old favorites of mine.

The reason I ask is because it was evening on 12/2 (U.S. Central Time) and still no one had posted this thread. It really seems like enthusiasm for it has waned considerably.Of your combos, though:Micah Samuel - Even though I've never been a Samuel fan, this flows well.August Jack - Rather harsh and abrupt. I think Augustus Jack would have a better flow, or even August James if you still wanted to keep the middle simple. Or perhaps August Graham / Graeme?Leo Zachariah - Visually this looks "off" to me, but I like the sound.Harvey Jonah - Very retro, in an almost dated way.Archie Thomas - Can't get behind Archie, personally, but this isn't objectionable.Hugo Jonathan - Good, strong name.Wilson Elijah - Wilson as a personal name makes me think of 2 things: the neighbor on Home Improvement, and the volleyball in Castaway. Because of these associations, I have difficulty taking it seriously as a first name. I like Elijah, though. In fact, depending on how you're pronouncing the first syllable, I think it would go well as a middle for Harvey.Milo Ezekiel - This is another Latin-Hebrew combo, like Leo Zachariah, but I find this one both visually and aurally more appealing. Good name!Asher Lincoln - Stodgy 19th century, sorry.Thatcher Gray - Ditto.Lilia Sinead - Good balance between a liquid first name and a strong, grounded middle.Willow Sarah - I recall seeing this combo many times before, is it one of your mainstays? It's pretty, but very soft. If that's what you're going for, cool, but I can't help but feel like this combo could blow away in the breeze.Sylvie Maya - Sure, both names have Ys, but I don't think they flow together well. I wouldn't pair Sylvie with another two-syllable name where the first syllable is stressed.River Lily - This has the same flow problems as Sylvie Maya, with an added dose of hippie. :-PLydia Marlowe - This reads like a first & surname rather than a first & middle. If I encountered Lydia Marlowe ______ in the wild, I would assume Marlowe was the mother's maiden name.

Ishmael has such an intriguing sound and is a fascinating biblical character, I wonder why it's not used more often.

I think people get hung up on the Moby Dick reference, and I think it's probably associated with Islam, plus people like Sam already. But anyway, yeah, I think it has a nice sound.

Mine (plus ten-year comparison)For me, there were a few changes from last month's Top 10. Here are my combos as they stand:Nicholas Rowan
Wesley Owen Rhys
Finn Gabriel
Donovan Leo
Adam Raphael
Malcolm Elliott
Dominic Edwin
Dorian Cedric
Elio Nathaniel
Tristan Xavier
&
Esme Artemisia
Sabrina Lily
Miranda Violet
Jane Elodie
Zoe Andromeda
Felicity Charlotte
Rosalie Clara
Raven Gabrielle
Viola Margot
Juliet AureliaSome of these are returning old favorites. Xanthe, Alexandra and Margot (now both middles), Esther, and Jonathan were replaced by Jane, Rosalie, Raven (brand new favorite), Viola, and the very Italian Elio. Clara's stressed syllable is pronounced slightly different from Claire's when I say it, so with Rosalie Clara I think I'm avoiding the "eclair" thing; but does anybody else hear eclair?I remember the days where month-to-month my list would be completely different, but my tastes are becoming more static with the passage of time. While I didn't participate in the official December 2011 thread, I found my independent top combos post from that time:Alistair William
Cameron Michael
Gavin Charles
James Graham
Jeffrey David
Logan Gareth
Luke Edmund
Richard Allan
Ross Carlisle
Wesley Merrick
&
Anouk Isobel
Constance Elisabeth
Elowen Peronel
Evangeline Victoria
Liliana Florence
Lumina Calista "Lumi"
Marian Estelle

Sethe Theresa
Sylvana TesniOh wow, this is a wild list! Back when I preferred the Y spelling of Silvana. This was also when I had a genuine fascination with the name Sethe (SETH-uh) because of Toni Morrison's Beloved - as well as Anouk from the book (more movie, in my case) Chocolat. I still like Alistair (William), Cameron (Michael), Gavin, Jeffrey (David - dated, but I like it), Luke (Edmund - this one came back several months ago), Richard, Constance, and Evangeline; and Wesley & Sabrina haven't left my top names. They're both the ones who've been there the longest. The only combos on that list that I actively dislike are Lumina Calista (way too much) and Logan Gareth (so guttural).

Haha, Lumina Calista is my favorite on the old list. It's magical. :)Elowen Peronel is great, too.Sethe is interesting. From your masculine list, Dorian Cedric stands out to me, and I also like Nicholas Rowan and Adam Raphael.I like most of the names on your feminine list. Sabrina Lily and Zoe Andromeda are standing out to me as nice combos atm, and I think Felicity has grown on me lately.

Cordelia is so wonderfully rich. With Cora's rising popularity, I wouldn't be surprised if she followed suit.
