July is my birth month, so I think it's time for a bit of a hefty shake-up! Here goes...Carmen / Carmela
Octavia
Ludovica or Lucrezia
Circe
Cybele or Cynara - which do you prefer?
Adelina
Xenia
Asherah
SapphiraTrying to make combos with other well-liked names, aiming for theatrical rather than names I'd realistically use:Carmen Elara / Carmela Frida
Octavia Beatrix
Ludovica Josephine / Lucrezia Fiammetta
Circe Melusine
Cybele Ottoline / Cynara Zenobia
Adelina Meredith
Xenia Hecate
Asherah Laurel
Sapphira DelphineEugh, those all suck... I'm in a name rut.Elowen has fallen off, as although it's beautiful I don't think I could ever use it. I'm a bit bored of Mélisande, as pretty as it is. Zenobia is gorgeous but I am a bit out of love with it atm. Francesca is one of my true name loves, but I took it off as it has been there so long at number three, and it's gotten a bit tired.
Elowen, Mélisande, Zenobia, Francesca - would you save any of them?

I love Ludovica & Lucrezia, Circe, Cybele (much better than Cynara), Roland, Casper, and Zebulon (prefer Zebulun).
vote up1
Cybele is one of my firm favourites, it kinda ticks all my boxes - weird, not too modern, history / mythology behind it, eye-catching on paper and a pretty sound... The issue is that everyone I've bounced it off of has either hated it, mocked it as too weird, and/or struggled with saying or spelling it. It was one of three names my ex explicately vetoed, which I guess could work for or against it. I thought Cynara might be more accessible? It has a nice nature/flower association and looks more feminine. But actually, it might look a little either scientific/medicinal or made up? Like a kinda trendy kinda anagram version of Serena? I've always hated Serena, sadly, and might have just talked myself out of Cynara. Hmmm...

Cynara reminds me of "sayonara," so it doesn't sound like "a name" to me (whatever that means). It also reminds me of cyanide...Cybele, on the other hand, boasts the mystique of antiquity -- I adore it!

Adelaide, Dorothea, Ramona, and Leona are stunning. Opal’s also been on my mind lately, but I’m not sure where I stand with it.I also like Florian, Elias, August, Isaac, and Asher.Rahela is also gorgeous, I think about it a lot! I also like Violet and Ludmila.I’m not a fan of Elkan / Elkanah. I’m not familiar enough with Tihomir to give a full opinion, but I do love many Croation names. How is it pronounced?

i've been unsure about Opal for the longest, for an admittably silly association (name of a character from very bad media that nearly all of my peers know of), but i love it too much. me and my partner's engagement rings are made of opal, which isn't the reason i like it, but adds a cute sentimental touch (hopefully doesn't come off as vain though).also i get not liking Elkan or Elkanah. i'm a bit iffy on whether i'd use it myself. some people are put off by the "elk" part, but i love the animal so that adds to it.Tihomir is said TEE-ho-meer (at least in Croatian and borrowed Hungarian usage). i also love many Croatian names, but my fiance's family is Croatian, not mine, and she alternates a bit on how comfortable she'd be using one.ty for the feedback!

I think the Opal ring association would be cute, definitely not vain! The reason I’m back and forth with it is because I think of the beautiful opal gemstone (which is also my birthstone) which makes me like it, but at the same time I’m not sure on the actual sound of it. The animal actually gives Elkan / Elkanah some appeal for me, and now that I revisited this Elkan really isn’t a bad name at all.And thanks for the pronunciation help, I do like Tihomir!
