Love - Gwen / Gwendolyn & Wendy, the delightful, sprightly alter egoI absolutely love Gwen / GwendolynHere this "Angled" Germanic stem - compounded with dole--I see Wendy, the delightful, sprightly alter ego. Is this Gothic?
"Though yet of Hamlet our dear brother's death
The memory be green, and that it us befitted
To bear our hearts in grief and our whole kingdom
To be contracted in one brow of woe,
Yet so far hath discretion fought with nature
That we with wisest sorrow think on him,
Together with remembrance of ourselves.
Therefore our sometime sister, now our queen,
The imperial jointress of this war-like state,
Have we, as 'twere with a defeated joy,
With one auspicious and one dropping eye,
With mirth in funeral and with dirge in marriage,
In equal scale weighing delight and DOLE,
Taken to wife: nor have we herein barr'd
Your better wisdoms, which have freely gone
With this affair along: for all, our thanks. (Claudius / I / ii / 1-16)"

GwendolenChanges -Asherah has bombed out, as apparently people hate it? It was voted people's least fave in polls and my friends hate it... I dunno, I think it's cool, but...eugh, maybe it's just me
Xenia has been replaced by Ksenia which I've always secretly loved more
Cybele has dropped out because I think I'm the only one who sincerely loves it, my partner, friends and family are all meh to eugh on it
Adelina bores me atm, it's just tooo...I dunno...

Zephyrine
Gwendolen
&
Oscar
Jasper
Ozias
Casper
EdmundShame others don't like Asherah, I think it's cool (as long as it's pronounced uh-SHEER-uh, not ASH-ir-uh). Cybele is lovely, too, and a lot more elegant than Sibyl (which does have its charm). And Lucrezia is a gem!

I love Ludovica, Zenobia, Circe, Zephyrine, Wilhelmina, Roland, Caspar, and Edmund.I, for one, adore Cybele and think Asherah is enchanting.

I like Carmen, Carmela, and Ksenia.
I like Gwendolen - and glad to see that instead of Gwendolyn.
I like Adelina - probably the only Adel-name I like.

Jasper
Roland
Magnus
Caspar
Vincent
I don't think -el names are boring. I feel sort of bored by the ones I've seen too much, is all (Samuel, Michael mainly). Gabriel and Rafael are great.

I like so many of yours - especially pleased to see Swithin (though coming from Winchester I spell it with a 'u')

Minerva would be in my top five if I didn't know people would call her Minnie, which I hate with a passion. I still love it as a middle name. I also love Rowan for a boy.

I love that you have both Remus and Lyall. The Harry Potter character Remus Lupin’s dad is called Lyall Lupin. I just love the irony of that.

Thanks! Harry Potter is definitely the reason I started liking those names lol. Now I mostly just like them for their look and sound, but the characters are pretty good associations/namesakes.

I like Darwin! I just wish the name weren't so associated with Charles Darwin.
And Pollux - another GP because people always say it sounds like bollocks
And Sylvan, which is usable IMO.I made a poll several years ago that included Arden, and people said they thought it was better as a guy's name.
https://www.behindthename.com/polls/248080 That's weird to me ... anyway I posted a new poll
https://www.behindthename.com/polls/294928 ... I'm on the fence about Arden. I think it's feminine and I kinda like it, but then I think it sounds like "harden" and I'm not so sure.

I kind of wish Darwin wasn't so associated with Charles Darwin too. I'm totally fine with the association, I just wish he wasn't the first thing that comes to people's minds when they hear the name.I luckily don't have the bollocks problem with Pollux since it's not a word that's used here. It's unfortunate that a lot of people think it sounds like that though :/That's interesting that a lot of people preferred Arden as a boy's name. I don't know why but it seems more feminine to me. I'm also not sure about it because I think it kind of sounds like "hard on"... but I have a lot of trouble finding girl's names I like so that was all I could come up with lol.
