At work, I had to go through the Civil War Index, which is an index to the Report of the Adjutant General of the State of Indiana. We only catalogue our surrounding counties in our index, so these names are those of men enlisted in Floyd, Clark, Harrison, and Scott counties in Indiana. I have checked and rechecked these and they appear as they do in the report, but that doesn't mean the report doesn't contain mistakes. They did misspell my great great grandfather's name. At the bottom, I’ve listed first names with surnames if I found them ironic, awesome, or otherwise interesting.
