Elisabeth "Ellie" - Love Elisabeth, love Elizabeth more but I can get over it. Ellie isn't my preferred nickname, but it's cute. I've been on a big Eli as a nn for Elizabeth kick lately (Eliza's my favorite).
Madeleine - nice enough.
Natalie - can't get on the Natalie train. Seems like it's trying SO hard to be a classic but it's not quite making it (kind of like Samantha).
Rose - I don't know why I dislike this name so much.
Ann / Anne - I love Anne, but it has to have an "e".
Hermione - sounds like "hiney" to me. :/
Catherine - LOVE! Prefer with a "K". You can thank Anne of Green Gables for that.
Virginia - love.
Mary - love.
Lily - nice enough. Rose and Lily seem to be the big flower names du jour, but I've got a thing for Camellia. Boys
Robert - like but don't love.
Thomas - love. So handsome. I'm even starting to warm to the nickname Tom, but never Tommy.
Damien - Hmm... this name doesn't seem to fit with your other names.
Elijah - cute.
Vincent - really like this also.
Ignatius - nice as a middle name.
Gregory - really like this also.
Augustus / Augustine - love!
Joseph - it's growing on me.
Alden - I have a soft spot for this name too. It's got such a pretty sound but I worry that it's too close to the ever trendy Aidan.
vote up1
Poor Natalie...Natalie gets on the list with the other classics because it's my name and my mother's name. In everyday use, Natalie sounds a lot more elegant and sophisticated than in the occasional roll-it-around-in-your-head use, and I've really enjoyed being a Natalie. I think it beats Samantha out by miles as far as classic feel goes.
vote up1
Oooo, Vincent Ignatius and Gregory Augustine are very handsome. And yay for Elisabeth with an 's'!
vote up1
I am loving them right now! What an upright, handsome set of little Catholic boys Vincent Ignatius and Gregory Augustine would be!Elisabeth is my darling! I just love her.

vote up1
Ohh, I love to see Hermione! I think it is so lovely and so usable, but I know my SO will laugh at me when I bring it up. I also like Matilda, and Fionnuala.Of your boys names, I like Henry best, with Alexei in second, though I prefer the spelling Aleksei.
vote up1
I love love love the nickname Annie. It's one of the sweetest girl nicknames in my opinion, and not so widely used that she'd have to be Annabel to distinguish her from all the other Annies in her class. Susannah is a nice full name for Annie as well, though I'm enamored with the nickname Sunny for Susannah at the moment.Katherine "Kate" is also one of my favorites, though I prefer the spelling Catherine. You can't go wrong with Katherine, and Kate feels much more elegant than 90's Katie.Eliza and Louisa are nice names, but don't do much for me personally. Virginia is one of my personal favorites. I'll probably use it as a middle name, but I really love the nickname Ginny. It has such a cozy, summer morning kind of feeling to it.Beatrix is nice, but I greatly prefer Beatrice "Bea." I think the x sound is just a little abrupt for my taste. I love Bea as a nickname, though. Ginny, Annie, and Bea might be the cutest sisters ever.Julia and Claire are both very pretty names, but I'm not overly fond of either of them. They work well as baby names in today's climate, and are definitely prettier than many alternatives!Mary is one of my favorites as well. I'm more likely not to use a nickname, but if I did I would pick Molly over Polly. Personal preference on that one, I believe.

Wow! Thanks for all of your opinions! Sunny for Susannah is an adorable idea, but I'm so attached to Annie I don't think I could use an Ann- name without the nn Annie. As far as Ginny goes, I like it in theory but I have a little sister named Genevieve and she sometimes goes by Genny and Ginny just sounds like her name with a REALLY THICK southern accent (we're in the Southern US). I think I like Virginia in full best.
vote up1
Oh yes, that's totally believable. My sister is the source of my love for Annie. She's Elizabeth Ann and has always gone by Annie. It was adorable when she was a child, but even now as an adult, Annie is so beautiful on her. That's also why Sunny is my go to nickname for Susannah. :)
vote up1
I have a sister named Elizabeth too! She goes by Beattie, but that's totally unrelated to her actual name.
vote up1
I love Annabel and Kate! Those are in my top choices as well. I love Annie as a nickname. Bea is adorable too!

A lot of really good ones in your list!
Anna - Lovely, though I prefer Ann or Anne, Anna makes a more solid FN
Beatrix - Prefer Beatrice, but love the idea
Catherine - One of my personal favorites.
Cecily - It's growing on me, very lyrical with a bit of spunk that Cecilia lacks
Delphine - Doesn't do anything for me.
Eloise - Charming. Makes me think of polka-dots and teacups.
Lenore - Dark and poetic
Lydia - I dislike Lydia, but I can't place why.
Marigold - One of the frillier flower names in my opinion, but it doesn't lose any of its charm for it.
Octavia - Posh and powerful. I can see a CEO in a power suit named Octavia.
Rose/Rosemary - Love it! One of my favorites. My favorite nn for Rosemary is Romy.Arthur - Love the stalwart kingly masculinity of Arthur.
Felix - It's nice, but makes me think of cat clocks and luck potions.
Frederick - Nice, but I don't like short forms Fred or Rick, so I couldn't use it myself.
Gareth - I like this so much better than Garrett. It has such a mellow heroic sound to it.
Henry - Another of my favorites. Classic, and I love the nn Harry.
Leo - Love it as nickname, but not as a full name.
Rupert - Used to dislike it, but actor Rupert Grint has helped me like it more.
Theodore - Another great classic name.
Walter - I wouldn't name my son this, but I like to see it. It looks so nice written down!
Willem - Prefer English William, Willem seems somehow incomplete to me.
