I made the spelling up :) Rosevear is a surname. It's also the name of the largest rock in Isles of Scilly (which I only discovered when I Googled it. I only knew about the surname!).

- Leonis! I love it! I think I discovered it thanks to you. Leonidas is a bit too heavy and Linus just makes me think of the boy from Peanuts (although Linus is a pretty common name here).
- I'm not very fond of either, but Drusilla is better than Drusa.
- Both are beautiful, but I prefer Adeline.

Where does Honna derive from? Is it a nn for Honor?
vote up1
Nope, I just like the sound better than Hanna / Hannah. I actually saw one once, on a name list at a conference. I tried the whole conference to guess who she might be. From her last name I would assume she was Indian, or married to someone from India. The H is pronounced in Honna, so Honor wouldn't work. An alternate spelling of Honne would work though, or a full name of Honnalee / Honalie would too.

Francine.... Francine.... hmmm, I'm gonna have to sit on that one for awhile. I want to like it more than I currently do but I foresee it REALLY growing on me. Frances almost made the list this month but I just don't LOVE it. Francine could get me there. HEART EYES at Ismene ;) Not one I ever expect to see in top 10s. How would you pronounce it? From the boys I like Evren and Dashiell
vote up1
I always say iz-meen. Though, I am sure there are a lot of ways to pronounce it.
We briefly considered Ismene when we were pregnant with Nadine, but my niece has a middle name Esmie and my sister went up in arms because they sounded similar.

I swear, you go just outside of regular English names and your list gets no comments around here. I feel like you and Delphi_Blue would agree on some names though. :)
1. Sylvie Rosaline -Sylvie, I adore. Rosaline is lovely as well.
2. Adela Marguerite -This seems so sophisticated and grown up and yet, I can see it working well on a child. Interesting.
3. Flora Mélisande -I like Flora, but Mélisande is nms.
4. Delphina Esmée -Delphina is too close to Delphine which was ruined by association for me. Esmée is very nice though.
5. Callista Océane -Callista has always seemed snotty to me, but Océane has a very fun feel to it.
6. Odette Seraphina -Odette is okay, but prefer Odetta. Also Swan Princess comes to mind. Seraphina is cool (I'm super into the masculine Seraphino.)
7. Estelle Maddalena -yes, yes, yes
8. Amalia Violetta -Amalia is very nice. Violetta is okay.
9. Annabella Fay or Annabella Ismay -Annabella is cool and cute. Fay is dull imo. Ismay is alluring.

Thank you commenting on each one, I really do appreciate it! Yes, my style is not very English! I have a heavy French, Italian, & German influence (the last two being my heritage).

You still ended up with a lot more comments than I did.
Throw a few Russian and Romanian names in and people run like they're on fire. It's crazy! And I don't like to reply to people if I can't make comments on every name. We're here for opinions so I feel like I should give that. I've been on this site since 2004. I'm stuck on how we used to do things which was to always comment.

Nevena -Fantasy book character?
Gretel -cute, cute, but Greta ages better.Marlon "Mars" -Marlon, yes. Mars, no.
Adler -no thanks. Irene Adler comes to mind.
Leyland -I like how it sounds, but the spelling looks like misspelled Leland.
Quincy -Never have cared for most Quin names.
Caspar -ADORE
Raphael -growing on me lately.
Emry -Emery / Emory or Embry, but this looks like you misspelled one of those. Or another fantasy book character.
Ansel -This is endearing.

HadleyHadley Fraser is one of my favorite theatre actors.
So I've gotta give him credit for helping me fall in love with that one.
And bonus! He's named after his grandfather.

Oh I love your list! Favorites are Sylvie, Élodie, Emmélise, Adélise, Delphine, Arthur, Aurelian, & Felix.

My name taste is just different enough that people always skip commenting on my lists during these things.
Your lists looks like it's suffering the same fate and we just can't have that.
1) Sylvie -ADORE. ADORE.
2) Avielle -Pretty, sounds like a fantasy character though.
3) Xanthe -loved this for a long time because it can be both very soft and very strong at once. More names like that.
4) Aerin -meh, nms
5) Sonnet -Okay, I've loved this for years. It's so charming.
6) Élodie -Elodie Yung is making me feel like this could be used on a real person and be cool. It used to seem too storybook for me, but it's growing on me.
7) Emmélise -yes, lovely
8) Geneva -meh. I like some place names, but not this one. I like Neva alone though which I guess is a place name too, but whatever.
9) Adélise -Okay, I'm not familiar with this, but it's kind of awesome.
10) Delphine -My snobbish high school friend who got too cool for me and is now working my same professional and is still too cool for me ten years later. So ruined by personal association, I guess. (Actually her name is Victoria Madeleine Delphine Surname and she doesn't let anyone forget it.)1) Oscar -Mixed feelings. Because it's cute, but I also think of Oscar the Grouch.
2) August -lovely and ages well, I think.
3) Fergus -nms. I don't know why I think of moss on stones when I see/hear this name, but I do.
4) Griffin -Also ruined by association. Just a trashy guy I know.
5) Arthur -Jeez. I feel like your list is getting put down for bad reasons. Worked with a guy named this and he worked out a lot and then would grab me and hold me even though I would ask him not to (I think I even asked what to do about it on the boards here) and he was super possessive of me even though we were never even close to being a couple or ugh.

I like:
Phoenix Blaise (but hate Arthur)
Lysander George (don't care for Ptolemy)
Dorian Hugo (but not Artemus)Evanthe Rosalind Lyra (although it would work better if Lyra was moved up front bc clashing R sounds)
Marigold Sylvia Ann(a) (but with Sylvia and Marigold switched)
Beatrix Rosalind Margot (but prefer the less uppity [imo] Margo spelling)
Anna Calliope May (ADORABLE! Seems like you saved the best for last lol)
