Nora - Very simple but pretty.
Rosalie* - My favourite Rose- name. I'm loving this ATM.
Beatrice - I prefer Beatrix.
Eve* - This is beautiful yet underappreciated. Everyone seems to be naming their children Eva or Ava. Its great to see Eve.
Henry - Very traditional sounding. I love it despite its popularity here on BtN.
August* - Very strong and handsome. Gus reminds me of the little mouse on Cinderella, LOL. Its cute, though! =)
Rory - Its a bit hard for me to say. I really like it but couldn't use it.
Emmett - I like this a lot. Its on my PNL but I always seem to forget about it when it comes to making up combos and stuff. =/

DD: Ivy Genevra - nice, I like the repeating V, I'd go with either Geneva or Ginevra though
DD: Adela Sofia - sounds familiar.. it's ok
DD: Gianna Valentina - ok, it flows nicely, but I'm not a fan of Italian names that start with Gi-
DD: Calista Azure, "Calla" - nice, I like all the names, but the -a A- clashes a bit imo
DD: Vienne Maria (or Vienna Maria?) - I'd go with either Vianne or Vienna on this one, I liek Vienne, but not Maria (one of my own mns, and the one I like least)
DD: Henna Corinne - I associate Henna with the paint used in religious practise, so for me it's not a great name, the combo itself has a nice flowSisters Ivy, Adela, Gianna, Calla, Vienne (/Vienna), and Henna (sister Henna and Vienna wouldn't be great imo)DS: Thomas Noel - nms
DS: Elijah Roman, probably "Eli" - I think Roman is lovely, but I don't like Elijah

Just the girls for nowI'll do the rest when I have more time :)Junia Briseis Elodie "Junie" - very lovely! Although Junie seems to insult the beauty of the other names. Oh, and how exactly do you pronounce Briseis? Is it just bris-ICE?Noa Lovisa Kerensa - very pretty. None of the names are my style, but they are still beautiful.Iris Odilia Winter - Odilia is very, very not my style, but it's not horrid. Iris and Winter are gorgeous.Morgana Soraya Vera - stunning! My only complaint is that there's a bit much -a sound, but it's so pretty I don't think it really matters.Era Catharina Vianne - What a lovely flow! I very much love it.Leila Philomena Juliet - the style of the different names seem to clash to me (mostly Philomena) but maybe that's just me. Leila and Julie are very pretty.
vote up1
Thanks :)And I pronous Briseis as something in between bree-SAYS and bree-SIE-is. In Dutch I ought to type Briseïs to get the right pronunciation, but I think that the dots sort of ruin the beauty of the name. Odilia is the only name I like even a bit to honour my aunt Wilhelmina Odilia "Wilma". I think Wilma sounds very dated and Wilhelmina sounds even more archaic...Leila Philomena Juliet is clearly the last combo, I liked Leila something Juliet, and wanted to put something in there that would have a vague reference to my dad (Philippus Marinus Petrus "Flip"), I don't care much for Philippa or Petra, and I would liek to reserve Marino for if I ever have a boy (Boaz Marino Constantine) otherwise I might consider Leila Marina Juliet. btw I say Philomena as fee-lo-MAY-nah:

Aviva Helen is back! Oh, I love Aviva Helen. Liora Temperance is interesting. I really like how it sounds, but I don't like how it looks. Its weird. Ezra Llyr is really awesome. And Julian Santiago. Is that and "Old Man and the Sea" reference? I still can't get through that book.
vote up1
It is. :-DIt's also an Ender's Game.Don't worry about not being able to get through the book. I've discovered that people either love the book or hate it...and that's fine. I'm one of those who adores it.And Liora Temperance just looks very, very unbalanced...I completely get what you mean.

I like Perpetua, because, to me, it has that Roman Empire feel to it--aristocratic and mythological. However, Sabela has an Ingrid Bergman-like appeal--exotic enough to attract your attention, but commonplace enough to actually be used.I'm excited to see Ivy Sabela make some lists. :)Tyvm - no one ever replies to my posts! No problem! :D

PatriciaLily's not particularly one of my favorites but Lily Patricia is pretty. Patricia rarely strikes me as being pretty (even though it's my mother's name and I feel like I ought to think well of it) but it's sound is at it's nicest with a simple, feminine first name. Lily fits that bill quite well, I think. Along similar lines I like Rose Patricia and Jane Patricia.

RoccoI think I might've told you this before--must've been you, because how often does Rocco make people's list?--but I really like seeing Rocco out there. It's not one of my favorites necessarily, just one that I like to see. :-)Theron Benedict is a very neat combo. Benedict always runs the risk to me of being too much on the nerdy or pope-y side, but Theron is cool enough to tamp down that image.
vote up1
Yep, I remember you telling me that. It's not very popular here on BtN, is it? I think that might be one of the reasons I like it so much. Thanks! Theron Benedict was an old combo of mine but I'm beginning to like it again. I'm glad you like it =)

Ingeborg is really growing on me. It sounds like a strong female character from the silver screen. Katharine Sleeping Dove is pure poetry.

Some CommentsI love Eve, Katharine, Edmond (prefer Edmund), Ptolemy, Ingeborg, and...Edelweiss. I've been thinking about that as a name lately. It's strange to see it on the board.
BTW, Pleasant and Angelorum make for fabulous mns. I never would've thought of them. Are you at all concerned that Michael and James are a bit pedestrian compared to your other mns?

BTW, Pleasant and Angelorum make for fabulous mns. I never would've thought of them. Are you at all concerned that Michael and James are a bit pedestrian compared to your other mns?Not particularly. I try to go for a balance of names generally considered "normal" and names generally considered rather "out there", so I wouldn't feel too bad about having sons like Morpheus Michael and Nathaniel Pleasant or daughters like Katharine Angelorum and Ruxandra Mary. Each combo has a "normal" name (though if it's in the FN spot, there's a good chance that my preferred nickname for it isn't all that common), and each combo has a "weird" name. Both names appeal to me a great deal--a lot of the "normal" ones are family names, and being named after my father (Michael) or my grandfather (James) offers as cool of explanations as being named after a favourite book character (Ptolemy) or graphic novel heroine (Evey). If little Ruxi grew up and demanded to be Mary, I wouldn't be unhappy agreeing to call her that. Similarly, if Simon grew up and felt more like a Clair, I'd be equally pleased to refer to him by his middle name. If that makes sense? :)Thanks for your comments!Array

DD: October -- I always want to turn it into Octoblerone. It doesn't do it for me.

DD: Hyzenthlay -- Reminds me of the male name Hythloday, meaning "expert in nonsense". Not doing it for me.
DD: Temperance -- Prefer as a middle name.
DD: Sterling -- Doesn't strike me as particularly attractive.
DD: Silver -- Not as a sister to Sterling. Would prefer as a middle name.DS: River -- Fine. Prefer it on a girl atm.
DS: Hazel -- Would prefer as a middle name for a boy.
DS: Genesis -- Like the world needs any more reminders of Phil Collins than it already has.
DS: Koi -- Short form of the Japanese word "koibito", the word for "lover." Not a good choice--and I assure you that I won't be the only one who knows this. ;) I knew a kid named Coy, and while I don't think the English word "coy" is much of an improvement, I'd much rather see that.
DS: Sage -- Eh, trendy and not my style but not bad.
DS: Basil -- Love it. After reading The Picture of Dorian Grey, it was a favourite of mine.Array
